When the reporting verb is in the past ( said , asked , told…) , many CHANGES are introduced into the Indirect Speech in terms of
TENSE, Pronouns and Time expressions.
Example: present simple
Direct Speech: “I live in this village now”. He said
Indirect Speech: He said that he lived in that village then. past simple
