COURSE DESCRIPTION

This is a course which provides teachers with an in-depth understanding of content knowledge on the grammatical concepts of the English language. It
focuses on enhancing their ability to explore and use the phonological, lexical, syntactic and semantic structures of English in written and oral
communication. It further equips them with skills in explaining the form, meaning and use of various English structure which are helpful not just for
facilitating the teaching and learning the language but for them to gain more confidence in engaging themselves to both written and oral discourses
inside and outside the classroom.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the course, teachers should be able to:

A. explain the form, meaning and use of various English language structure through oral and written reports
B. demonstrate in-depth content knowledge and understanding of the grammatical concepts of English language structures in designing level-specific
English enrichment activities as presented in self-learning modules and activity sheets for their learners.
