PERT Analysis

The document discusses using the line of balance technique to plan construction projects. It provides steps to draw the line of balance, including calculating man hours, theoretical gang size, optimum number of men, actual gang size, output rate, time per operation, and elapsed time. An example problem is given to establish a timeline to install 124 metal towers over several weeks and calculate completion date and percentage completed at different points in time.

Example 1:
A project to implement 124 metal towers to carry electrical wires according
to the schedule and the data available for this project.
Required
1- Establishing a timetable in the line of balance and assuming that the
conditions of work include:
a- the contractor delivering 6 towers per week to the employer and
b- assuming that the contractor works 5 days per week and 8 working hours
per day.

2- What is the date of completion of work on the project?

3- What is the percentage of completion of the project after 100 days
have passed since the start of the project?
4- What is the number of towers completely when 50% of the metal
towers are installed?
