The world we live in today is profoundly dependent on the talents of electrical

engineers. Creating, designing and managing the systems that keep things running is
vital in our society – from the generation of heat, light and power to the ease and
speed of communication that has come to expect.

The School of Electrical Engineering has been playing a vital role in producing
scientists and technologists of highest caliber ever since it was established in the
year 1997. The School runs one under graduate programmes and three post-graduate
programmes to cater to the ever challenging needs of technical excellence in all
areas of electrical engineering such as Power systems engineering, Power and energy
system and Power electronics drives. In addition to the strong undergraduate
programs, the School has been playing a pioneering role in producing world class
postgraduates and research scholars. The infrastructure and lab facilities are
upgraded from time to time and provide adequate opportunities for students and
researchers to learn and innovate. The School maintains an excellent
student-to-faculty ratio. The School has more than Fifteen UG and PG laboratories,
which are equipped with cutting-edge experimental setups and other learning
resources. The course curriculums are designed to achieve these objectives with the
best quality. Apart from sharing theoretical knowledge as per the current industry
demands, the School fosters cutting-edge research opportunities for its students,
including those pursuing B. Tech., M. Tech., and PhD degrees.

The School has distinguished faculty, all holding Ph.D. degrees from renowned
institutes in India and abroad. Many faculty members are Fellows of several national
and international scientific bodies and senior members of IEEE. The faculty of the
department has been constantly carrying out research on many cutting edge
technologies and regularly publishes in IEEE and other top international journals. The
department also undertakes many research projects sponsored by both the
government and the industry. The School undertakes consultancy and other forms
of collaboration with various organizations. The School organizes workshops,
seminars and symposia in various specialized fields with participants from all over
the country, and runs summer schools for the benefit of teachers of other
engineering colleges and professional engineers. The School has online access to
research articles from IEEE Explore digital library, Science Direct, Springer, and
other globally renowned publishers. The department also provides access to
high-end computational servers and software like MATLAB, ETAP, My power,LabView
etc with high end hardware Tools such as Dspace, NI instruments, Siemen PLC and
Industry and home automation, etc. to foster learning and research activities.
Instructional as well as advanced laboratories like Control Systems,PLC, Industry
automation, Electrical Machines, Power Electronics, and Power Systems are fully
operational with advanced technologies, hardware equipment, and software.
The faculty members of the School encourage the participation of students in their
research works, which facilitates the students to learn about the latest research and
industrial problems. Such activities also help the students develop the skill to solve
the latest research and industrial problems as well as to develop new products. The
lab facilities and the infrastructure are regularly upgraded as per the growing
demands of global industries.

The main focus of the School is to deliver an outstanding education that equips
students with the essential knowledge and skills in the field of electrical
engineering. In addition to providing high-quality education, the School strongly
emphasizes nurturing innovative ideas and guiding those ideas from the conceptual
stage to a deliverable product. This is achieved through various stages, including
theoretical analysis, feasibility studies, laboratory-level hardware implementation,
testing and validation, prototype making and analysis, technology enhancement,
and ultimately, product development. The students are nurtured to excel in all
these stages of product development. The School strives for the highest standards
of integrity, and intellectual and creative excellence. The School seeks new
knowledge and practical impact, in service to the nation and the world. The School
