Preliminary Activity
1. Prayer
Everyone, please stand up and lets pray to feel our God’s presence.

then check the alignment of your chairs and arrange properly.

Yesterday, we discussed about the color theory. Am I right class? Yes, Ma’am.
Okay, so what are the primary colors?
Maam, red, blue and yellow.

How about the secondary colors?
Ma’am, orange, green and violet.
Excellent!
And last, what are intermediate color? Give me an example.
Ma’am, yellow-green, blue green, and blue-violet.

B. Establishing a Purpose for the Motivation

Activity 1: “2 PICS, 1 WORD!”
Before we proceed to our discussion, we will have our activity first
entitled “2 PICS, 1 WORD!” I will flash the pictures on the screen and
base on it, you have to identify what word it pertaining. Do you

today? Maam! Based on our activity, I think our topic for today is
all about the BASIC HAND STITCHES.
Exactly, you guess it right! Our topic for today is all about the different
types of Basic Hand Stitches.
Before we proceed, I have here our objectives for today!
Unlocking of Difficulties
Class, in this lesson there are some unfamiliar words that we will
encounter as we go along with our discussion.
Hand Sewing- stitching fabric together permanently used by hand.
Seam- a loop of thread or yarn resulting from a single pass or movement
of the needle in sewing, knitting, or crocheting.
Hem- the edge of a piece of cloth or clothing that has been turned under
and sewn.
Stitch- a piece of thread sewn in cloth, or the single movement of a
needle and thread into and out of the cloth.

C. Presenting examples/Instances Sewing the basic hand stitches are very easy if you learn each step
of the lesson thoroughly before practicing the next step. Sewing by hand is a skill that
most, if not all, people should probably attempt to master at some point.

different stitches. The students will identify the pictures given according
to its description and the students will raise their hands and cite their

F. DEVELOPING MASTERY ACTIVITY #3: TAP AND TELL!

I have here a different pictures with the design of different stitches. The
students will tell if what types of stitch used in the design. The students
who identify the name of stitches correctly will got a reward.

row your boat at the same time you are going to pass the cabbage, then we
stop singing the one who holds the cabbage should peel the cabbage then
he/she will identify what kind of stitch is there in the cabbage. Understand

G. APPLICATION
Excellent class! I have a question, why it is important to know the basic
hand stitches? Ma’am, It is very important because having the knowledge
of different stitches for embroidery makes me understand
what I am actually doing.
Okay very good answer. And how will you apply it to your daily life?
Knowing the different types of stitches, I can make
clothing articles and decorative items for my home once I
have mastered these stitches
H. Finding Practical Application of
Concept and Skills in Daily Living Correct! If we know the different basic hand stitches it makes us opens
creativity when we sew a simple garment. Over time, sewing can save you
money by providing a means for making gifts. Also, sewing is a hobby
that can benefit your well-being.
I. Making generalization Again class, what is our lesson today?
Different types of basic hand stitches, Ma’am.
And what are the types of basic hand stitches? Ma’am, back stitch, basting , running stitch, outline stitch,
blanket stitch, catch stitch and chain stitch..
