There are 28 Parliamentary constituencies in the State of Karnataka. The details of reservation of
these Constituencies, as determined by the Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly
Constituencies Order, 2008, are as follows ---

Last date for filing nominations was 26th March 2019.
Highlights
330 candidates ( 310 Male, 20 Female) had filed 455 nominations.
52 nominations were rejected 278 were validly nominated candidates.
37 candidates have withdrawn and finally 241 (224 Male, 17 Female) candidates are in fray.

Electoral Rolls: An accurate and error free electoral roll are the foundation of free, fair
and credible elections and intensive and sustained focus is laid on improving their
quality, heath and fidelity. Final publication of electoral rolls in respect of
Karnataka has been done on 16.01.2019. Electoral rolls have been updated till the last
date of nominations and the rolls are made available on the web site of CEO—
www.ceokarnataka.kar.nic.in.

Alternative Documents:
The Commission has vide its direction dated 28th February 2019, notified 11
alternate photo ID card to establish their identity. In order to ensure that no
voter is deprived of his/her franchise, if his/her name figures in the Electoral
Rolls, and the voter is not able to produce his Voter ID card, then he may
produce any of the following photo ID cards to establish his identity –
When you reach the polling station and find your name is not in voter list, just
show your Aadhar card or voter ID and ask for : Challenge Vote” under section
49 A and cast your vote
CLARIFICATION: Name in voter list is mandatory to cast your vote. If your
name is in voter list and if you do not have EPIC, you can still vote by using
the 11 alternate documents notified.
2. Polling stations.
All the below mentioned Polling Stations are having Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF)
such as Drinking water, toilet, Ramp, electricity etc. These Polling Stations are located in

5. EVM/VVPAT :
36,196CUs, 52112BUs, 37,705 VVPATs are used in the 30,164 polling stations going
for poll on 18.04.2019 General Elections to Parliamentary Constituencies 2019 including
reserve. The Parliamentary Constituency wise details are given below.

In order to create awareness among the electors about the use of VVPAT, special teams are
arranged equipped with VVPATs and EVMs. These teams have visited various parts of the
Assembly Constituency with these machines and explained to the people about the use of
VVPATs and also it’s functioning. The voters are allowed to use the machines and see how it
works by casting their votes. The details of voters participation and vote casted in awareness
campaign are given below. A total of 3,32,68,248 voters have participated and 1,99,24,876
voters have casted their votes during the awareness programme in 14 Parliamentary
Constituencies, covering 18 districts, going for poll on 18.04.2019.

concern and asked to take advance measures to address facilitation.
Nodal officers for welfare in the district will coordinate and supervise the polling

25. SUVIDHA:
1. Under Suvidha5,776 Applications for permissions have been received
in the 14 Parliamentary Constituencies going for poll on 18.04.2019,
out of which 5,120 have been accepted, 196 are in progress within
stipulated time and 460 have been rejected.
2. Out of the total applications, BJP (2,339), Congress (1,397), JD(S)
(850), BSP (279), CPI(M) (65), CPI (36), Independents (409) and others
(401)have sought permissions.
3. Major permission sought by the political parties and candidates are
related to Holding meeting and loud speakers (1,873), vehicle
permissions (intra district) (1,152), application for permit for street
corner meeting and loud speaker (1,128), Vehicle permit (620),
application for permit to take out procession and loud speaker (781)
and others (222).
