List of Approved Printers for the IOLMaster in the United States

Current IOLMaster Printer

The Epson C-86 printer has been qualified for use with the IOLMaster. The printer driver files
are now installed on the hard drive in the C:\ printer\Epson folder. All IOLMaster units
manufactured after November 2004 should have the drivers loaded on the hard drive.

If you need to install the Epson C-86 drivers on an IOLMaster manufactured after November
2004, you will not have to download the files from floppy disks. Use the normal Add Printer
method and choose the Have Disk technique to load Epson C-86 drivers from the above
mentioned folder. Refer to the instructions in this bulletin, beginning with instruction step 21.

An Epson C-86 printer kit is available and includes:

- Epson C-86 printer;


- Printer driver disks kit with instructions; and
- Power cord, which plugs into the IT3-L power table.

The printer driver kit can be ordered for customers who have purchased an Epson C-86 printer
from an outside source, or require reloading of the printer drivers.

The power cable, driver disks kit and installation instructions can be ordered separately.

Epson C-86 Print Driver Installation

IOLMaster All Models:


1. Select the Options menu.
2. Select the Setup menu.
3. Select ‘Add Printer’.
4. Select View Menu.
5. For Windows 95 systems, select ‘Toolbars’ (if selected a check mark will appear to the
left of the Toolbar).
6. For Windows 98 systems, select ‘Toolbar’ and the select ‘Address bar’ (if selected a
check mark will appear to the left of the Address bar).
7. Select the drop down arrow on the far right of the Address bar.
8. Select the ‘C\: drive’. The content of the C:\ should be displayed.
9. Double click to select the folder titled Printer.
10. Select File-> New-> Folder.
11. Right click on the New Folder, then select ‘Rename ’ and type Epson C-86 as the
folder name, and select the ‘Enter’ key.
12. Insert the first printer driver disk in the floppy drive.
13. Select the Address drop down arrow and select the ‘3 ½ Floppy A:\ drive’.
14. Double click the ‘FD_setup.exe’ icon to start the loading process.
15. Select the ‘Start Data Copy’ button. This will activate the ‘Select’ button.
16. In the Destination block type ‘C:\printer\Epson C-86’.
17. Select ‘Start’.
18. Follow the screen prompt to change floppy disks.
19. Remove the last disk and select ‘OK’.
20. Close the Windows Explorer.
21. Select the Options menu.
22. Select the Setup menu.
23. Select ‘Add Printer’.
24. Double click the ‘Add Printer’ icon.
25. Select ‘Next’.
26. If prompted for network or local printer, select the ‘Local Printer’ button.
27. Select ‘Next’.
28. Select the ‘Have Disk’ button.
29. Select the ‘Browse’ button next to the Copy Manufacturer’s Files from dialogue.
30. Navigate to the C:\printer\Epson C-86 folder\English\Win9x. You should have the
epiifebr.inf file in the file name box. Select ‘OK’.
31. From the Install From Disk Menu select the ‘OK’ button.
32. From the Add Printer Wizard, ensure that the Epson Stylus C86 series is highlighted
and select ‘Next’.
33. Ensure that LPT1 is highlighted and select ‘Next’.
34. Select ‘Yes’ to accept the C-86 as the default printer, and select the ‘Finish’ button.
35. You will return to the Printers window after the loading is complete.
36. Windows Setup is complete. Select ‘OK’.
37. You should see the C-86 printer driver, and it should have a check mark in the upper left
corner of the icon.
38. ‘Close’ the Printer window.
39. You are ready to print.
