How to do the Foundations Analytics Exercises

This training is designed for you to complete the exercises yourself in your own
workbook by following along with the instructor. Seeq provides a Learn Server and
fresh workbook for you to use. The instructions below tell you how to get to your
workbook and how to get the most out of the training.

Step 1. Log in to learn.seeq.com

Go to learn.seeq.com, Seeq's hosted Learn Server, using Chrome, Firefox, or Edge. An
account was automatically created for you when you registered on training.seeq.com.

The login for your account is as follows:

• Username: the full email address used to register on training.seeq.com (includes

"@" and domain)
• Password: the same email address as the username, all lower case

If you cannot log in, please let us know by emailing us at [email protected].

Step 2. Get your training workbook

After logging in, you must update your training workbook. Your workbook is in My
Folder, in the R61 Training Resources folder. If you have work in that folder that you
wish to keep, rename the files, move them to a different folder, then click the "Update
my training content!" link below.

Update my training content!

Step 3. Open your training workbook

The training materials contain fresh copies of all the exercises for this training. As the
instructor does an exercise, follow along in your training workbook.

Click both links below to access your copy of the training Workbench and training
Organizer.

• R61 Foundations Analytics Exercises

• R61 Training Reports & Dashboards
If the links above do not work, you can still access your training materials by logging into
the Learn Server at learn.seeq.com, click My Folder from the menu on the left, go to
the R61 Training Resources folder, then click the green R61 Foundations Analytics
Exercises Workbench file and the blue R61 Training Reports and Dashboards
Organizer file.

Links to individual worksheets are provided at the beginning of each exercise to make it
easier for you to pick up where you left off.

Step 4. Set up your monitors

Use two monitors side-by-side for the best training experience: one monitor to watch
the instructor and another monitor to follow along in your own workbook. It is crucial to
see the instructor's screen as you follow along.

If you are not able to use two monitors, put your workbook full screen and pin the
instructor video on top so you can see what the instructor is doing as you follow along.

Step 5. Follow the exercise instructions

• Follow the instructions in the numbered steps as you work along with the video.
You can pause the video at any time as you work through the exercises.
• When there are blanks (____) in the journal exercises, try to find the right Tool or
Formula function to do the given task and fill in the blank.
• Try using the Skill Explorer menus to find the right Tool/function to perform a
given task. Instructions for using these menus are given in the exercises.
• For more information, such as how to use a Tool, Introduction to Formula, etc.,
see the Knowledge Base or video links via the Skill Explorer topics.
• Do the exercises in order. The concepts taught in an exercise build on concepts
taught in previous exercises.

Resources
Even though we recommend using Seeq's hosted Learn Server for the best experience,
some learners wish to perform the exercises on their company's hosted server. If you
prefer to do the training exercises on your company's hosted server, you can download
the necessary files from the File Repository Area of the course on training.seeq.com.
Copy the exercises from the document to your journal.

Other resources, such as a link to Skill Explorer, can also be found in the File
Repository Area of the course.
