Learning Objectives
By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to read the dialogue and match at least four pictures to the corresponding
M sentences correctly.

1. Introduce the topic of the lesson using the picture of a mummy to find out what pupils know about this
Pre-lesson topic.
2. Show a video of pyramids and mummies if necessary.
3. Activity 1:
a. Vocabulary: Play the CD and have pupils point to the words and repeat. (track 6)
b. Say the words in random order and have pupils repeat and point. (SB pg 6)
4. Activity 2:
a. Show pupils the picture of the mummy again.
b. Use this to encourage pupils to guess the meaning of alive.
c. Have pupils look at the pictures and introduce the characters. Elicit what they can see.
d. Pupils point to the bubbles and follow along as you play the CD. (track 7)
Lesson delivery e. Play the CD again and encourage pupils to shadow read.
f. Pupils answer comprehension questions posed by the teacher.
g. If time, pupils acting out the dialogue in groups.
5. Activity 3:
a. Grammar box: Read the question and the answer out loud and have pupils repeat.
b. Explain the question and answer and give pupils more examples.
6. Activity 4:
a. Pupils refer to the dialogue and match each picture to the corresponding sentence.
b. Pupils compare their answers in pairs, then check as a class.
7. Make true/false sentences about the dialogue.
Post lesson
8. Pupils stand up if the sentences are true and remain sitting if they are false.
REFLECTION
