INTRODUCTION

From the talk based on the knowledge shared by Ir Jafni B Alias, @ Sulong , we noticed about
common latest sensor that available and be used nowadays. The sensors mentioned are IoT
sensors, Pollution sensors, RFID sensors, Wearable sensors, Optical image sensors, Biometric
sensors, Printed sensors, Ultrasonic sensors and Infra Red. The sensors have their own
functions that be in technology tools then make everyones’ works easier. The talk also told that
each sensor’s characteristics and features. However, there were weakness of each sensor’s that
can damage their components inside. The sensor should be used well to avoid any problem
occurs.

TYPE OF SENSOR

1. POLLUTION SENSOR
2. IOT SENSOR
3. PIEZOELECTRIC STRAIN SENSOR

APPLICATION OF EACH SENSOR

1. POLLUTION SENSOR

i. Outdoor Air Quality Monitoring System

Environmental health has been a popular topic for decades. Many laws and regulations
concerning pollutant emissions in the air have been enacted in order to ensure decent air quality.
As a result, businesses must closely monitor hazardous gas production to ensure that emissions
remain well within defined limits.

ii. Indoor Air Quality Monitoring System

it may come as a surprise to find that indoor air pollution kills nearly 3.8 million people
each year. When particulate matter and dangerous chemicals are present in the air, the quality
of the air is reduced, which can lead to major ailments like asthma, decreased lung function,
and even cancer when inhaled.
2. IOT SENSOR

i. Sensors of Pressure
The physical force exerted on or against an object by something in touch with it is
referred to as pressure. As you might expect, there are numerous advantages to using pressure
sensors in Industrial IoT applications because these sensors can monitor water levels,
meteorological conditions such as air pressure, and gas pressure in oil and energy
environments. These IoT sensors can be used to save lives in potentially gas-explosive
environments, or to trigger flood warnings.

ii. Sensors of Optical Light

These sensors transform light rays into electronic signals by measuring the amount of
light and then converting it into a form that can be read by an instrument, in this case the IoT
system. Light sensors have numerous IoT applications, ranging from office administration to
agricultural.Light sensors are used in offices to manage brightness levels, similar to how your
phone's brightness responds to the sun and outside light levels. Light sensors are also used in
agriculture to determine how much light the earth absorbs, allowing plants to thrive.

3. PIEZOELECTRIC STRAIN SENSOR

Piezo sensors are found in a wide range of sensors and systems. They transform a physical
characteristic, such as acceleration or pressure, into an electrical signalPiezo sensors transform
pressure, acceleration, or tension changes into electrical charges and then monitor them. They
have a very high sensitivity, making them ideal for patient monitoring applications.
i. Pezoelectro ceramic based or Piezoelectric polymer-based (e.g.,PVDF)
ii. Very high resolution (able to measure nanostrain)
iii. Excellent performance in ultrasonic frequency range, very high frequency bandwith
therefore very popular in ultrasonic applications, such as measuring signals due to
surface wave propagation
iv. When used for measuring plane strain, can not distinguish the strain in X,Y direction
v. Piezoelectric ceramic is a brittle material (can not measure large deformation)

CONCLUSION

To sum up , world today used a lot of sensor . Even in mobile phone , we used many
variation of sensor . Sensor was really important in our technology today . So , nowadays we
need to conquer and study a lot about sensor so that we can use it in our life because its
importance is proven by current technology today . All information that given by Ir Jafni B
Alias, @ Sulong was very ice and full of knowledge .
