Background
Most self-service laundry is a facility
where people can wash and dry their
clothes using coin-operated machines.
It offers a necessary service to
individuals and families who need a
convenient and affordable way to keep
their clothes clean.
In our project, we create a laundry token system
with RFID, WLAN , and a database to enhance the
efficiency and security of a self-service laundry.
Background
By replacing traditional coin-operated machines with RFID
tokens and implementing real-time tracking capabilities, we
aim to provide customers with a seamless and efficient laundry
experience.
Working Theory
Utilization of RFID
tokens for payment.
Integration with a WLAN for real-
time communication.
Database backend for storing customer
data and transaction history
Automatic billing and account
management.
Real-time monitoring of machine usage and
maintenance alerts.
Implementation of security
features.
Focus on enhancing efficiency and
customer satisfaction.
Utilization of RFID tokens for
Working Theory
payment.
Customers are issued RFID tokens that replace traditional coins for payment.
RFID tokens contain embedded tags that uniquely identify each customer
account.
Customers can easily scan their RFID tokens at RFID readers on washing
machines and dryers to initiate laundry cycles.
Integration with a WLAN for
real-time communication.
RFID readers installed on each machine communicate with a central server via a
Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN).
WLAN connectivity enables real-time data transmission, facilitating immediate
updates to customer accounts and machine status.
Working Theory
Database backend for storing
customer data and transaction
history
A database backend stores all customer account information, transaction
history, and machine usage data.
The backend system manages account balances, tracks usage patterns,
and generates reports for analysis.
Automatic billing and account
management.
After each laundry session, the system automatically deducts the
appropriate amount from the customer's account balance.
Customers can monitor their account balances, view transaction history,
and add credit through a user-friendly interface.
Real-time monitoring of machine
Working Theory
usage and maintenance alerts.
Facility owners can monitor machine usage and availability in real-time through
the central server interface.
The system generates maintenance alerts for issues such as machine
malfunctions or low stock levels for detergent and fabric softener.
Implementation of security
features.
The system employs encryption and authentication protocols to ensure the
security of customer data and transactions.
Access controls prevent unauthorized tampering with machine settings or
customer accounts.
