Section 2: Privacy and Information Management Discussion

2.1 Based on your review of your company’s website, describe your company’s lawful
basis from collecting the indicated personal information

AEO informs the user that they can accept or decline to give personal information.
When pressing accept it is following the lawful basis giving consent to AEO to obtain
the personal information which they desire. AEO does follow the rights under the
GDPR by having their website clearly state that it will take your personal information if
you accept and it is written in the setting with clear and plain language. AEO privacy
notice clearly states what the cookies will do such as advertise and analytics which is
keeping transparency and being GDPR compliant.

2.2 Based on your review of your company’s website, describing the type and purpose of
the cookies installed, and what action a user must take to signify consent.

When first going on AEO website ae.com a pop up comes up to enable cookies. The
cookies for ae.com are used to advertise, collect information, and monitor network
traffic. When you click accept you allow AEO to share your personal information with
third parties. The third parties then can send you business offers and advertise
towards you due to those cookies. For a few of the cookies in the setting there are
options to opt out.
