These lines have been taken from the play “The Bear” written by
Anton chekhov. Popova, a young widow is living a life of loneliness. One day, Mr Smirnov,
a moneylender comes there to demand his money. Which he had lent to her husband. He is
rough type of man. When Popova asks him to be polite and less noisy. He begains to find
fault with women. He calls them insincere, unfaithful, and merciless. He declares that men
are faithful and constant.

has a quarrel with Philip. Philip Points a pistol at him. He suddenly awakes. Now he

is three O’clock on the Christmas morning. He examines the safe in the library and opens
his bag. At that time, Guy sydney, the son of Lord redchester enters the room. The bulgar
is alarmed and points his pistol at Guy Sydney. Guy Sydney cools him down and says that
he is very pleased to see him in the house. In fact, Guy wants somthing unexpected to
happen.

She is quite different from her mother. She wants to marry an ugly young man John
because he loves him. Lucy is surprised at her strange choice.

Context:

This is a inspiring poem. The most remarkable quality of T.S. Eliot is his faith in
idealism and optimism. In this poem, the poet says that we should work hard to get our
aims. According to the poet, departure is essential for Arrival. We should make struggle to
make this world a better place to live in.
