• Computers use a language in order to work.


• Computer coding is used in almost every industry these days, so
knowing a bit about it will be helpful no matter what you end up
doing in the future.
• Programming is using a computer language to communicate with a
computer.
• Writing computer programs involves describing processes and
procedures in a logical way and we call this computational thinking.
• Computer programming also involves developing lists of
instructions called the source code which can be read by humans.
• The stuff that these instructions manipulate are different types of
objects, e.g., numbers, words, images, sounds, etc...
• Creating a computer program can be like composing music,
designing a house and creating lots of stuff.
