Dear colleagues,

In addition to the previous message dated March 10, 2022 , I have the pleasure to send
you information about new opportunities for grants offered by Cure Within Reach that
works in the fields of scientific research in the domain of repurposing of drugs and
medical devices for LMICs ( Written in red in the attached message). Hence, this could
lead to new indications and increase opportunities to access medical care.
I wrote a full chapter about drugs and devices repurposing in our new
book “Approaching Global Oncology: The win-win model”, edited by Ahmed
Elzawawy and Wilfred Ngwa. There are more than 100 hundred contributors and the
book is honored with a special contribution of H.E. the late Dr. Tabaré Vázquez,
immediate past president of the republic of Uruguay, A keynote by HRH Princess Dina
Mired and a foreword by Sir Muir Gray.
Dr. Clare Thibodeaux wrote a chapter in this book about opportunities of research for
LMICs in fields of drugs and medical devices.

Cures Within Reach has open funding opportunities for blood cancers, minority
PIs, health disparities, rare diseases and low and lower-middle income

• Blood Cancers: Budgets of up to $75,000 for clinical drug repurposing
trials from any institution worldwide; proposal deadline May 6

• Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), including either clinical trials


impacting racial / ethnic health disparities or clinical trials led by
underrepresented racial / ethnic minority researchers:

o US-based DEI: Budgets of up to $70,000 for clinical repurposing


trials from any US institution to address DEI; proposal deadline
June 6

o Chicago focused DEI: Budgets of up to $100,000 for clinical


repurposing trials in from any Chicago area institution to address
DEI; proposal deadline June 6

• Rare Diseases: Budgets of up to $70,000 for clinical repurposing trials to


address DEI in rare diseases from any US institution, for a Fall
2022 CureAccelerator Live! event; proposal deadline June 6

• ReGRoW for Low and Lower-Middle Income Countries: Budgets of up


to US$50,000 for repurposing clinical trials in any disease led by PIs
based in low and lower-middle income countries; proposal deadline
June 20

There's no limit to the number of submissions accepted from any one researcher
or institution, and researchers at any career stage are welcome to apply.
