Activities Activities:
Pre-lesson
1. Review Part 1 of the story (See Lesson 125).
Lesson delivery
2. Show pupils the five pictures of the story (Part 2). Have them predict in
pairs which order they come in in the story.
3. Give pupils the headings for each of the five sections of the story to match
to the pictures.
4. Have pupils sit comfortably and read quietly on their own. After reading,
they check their predictions.
5. Play the CD and follow the instructions in the Teacher’s Book for Activity 1
(While reading)
6. Follow instructions in the Teacher’s Book for the After reading activity.
Post-lesson
7. Have pupils express their opinions of the story in a pairwork or small group
activity.

Activities Pre-lesson
1. Choose an appropriate pre-lesson activity from the list in the introduction that
suits your pupils’ needs and interests and that will review adjectives to prepare
pupils for the lesson.
Lesson delivery
2. Tell pupils they are going to read a fairy story. Ask them whether they know
any other fairy stories (e.g. Sleeping Beauty). Note that many have been made
into films by Disney, so pupils may know them.
3. Show pupils the picture of the princess. Elicit some adjectives to describe her.
Tell pupils that many men in the land want to marry the princess, so they have
some competitions. Hand out the character sets (the three strong men in
picture 2, the three jokers in picture 3, the three running men in picture 4) and
elicit some adjectives to describe them. Ask pupils to put them in order of how
strong/funny/fast they are.
4. Ask pupils to read the story on Student’s Book, p.102–103 to check to see
whether they were right. Remind them that they do not need to understand
every word and can use the pictures to help them understand the storyline.
5. Play the CD and have pupils follow along. Follow the instructions for While
reading on Teacher’s Book, p.154–155.
6. Follow instructions for After reading on Teacher’s Book, p.155.
7. Elicit and discuss the Value in the story (see Post-story activity, Teacher’s
Book, p.155).
Post-lesson
8. Choose an appropriate post-lesson activity from the list in the introduction that
suits your pupils’ needs and interests and that will review the main areas
covered in the lesson.

Lesson Objective 1. Pupils will be able to state characteristics of regular polygons and measure
their angles.
Success Criteria 1. Answer at least 5 questions correctly on the above topics.
Activities 1. The teacher selects a few pupils to read the times table 8-12 and 25.
2. Pupils are given quiz to test their understanding.
3. The teacher goes through each question to discuss their mistakes.
4. Teacher discusses the exercises they did previously in their textbook.
5. Pupils check their answers and make corrections on their mistakes.
6. Teacher introduces regular polygons and their characteristics.
7. He guides them through the examples given in their textbook.
8. They are then given exercises for homework.
