Safety & protection for
high rise construction
The MFE Working Platforms provide ultra-safe working conditions and
protection while working at all levels of high rise construction. Options
of hydraulic self climbing and crane lifted solutions available.

Enclosed levels protects workers from fall hazards

Safe working areas increase productivity

Protects against items being dropped from thec building

Simple & Safe repositioning by self climbing hydraulic

process or crane lifted

MFE SAFETY SYSTEMS

MAIN APPLICATIONS
Perimeter Safety & Protection for
Construction Works
Typically 2.5 levels for main structural works to provide fall
protection for workers and a safe working environment and drop
protection against items falling from the building

Trailing Safety & Protection for External

Finishing Works
Typically 3.5 level trailing platforms for finishing work teams to
provide fall protection for workers and a safe working environment
and drop protection against items falling from the building

Main construction works platform leads in front of a trailing platform for finishing works a number of floors behind
to complete final finishing including glazing, painting, cladding works etc.

Fully Enclosed for Fall & Drop Protection

Screen Flaps
Screen gaps are secured with hinged flaps to
eliminate gaps and prevent items from falling
from the building

Provides total screen gap closure

01

02 Walkway Flaps
Walkway gaps are closed with steel
checker plate flaps for total enclosure and
falling item prevention

Closes any gaps between platform

sections on walkways

SELF CLIMBING PLATFORM
MFE Self Climbing Platforms provide ultra safe
working environments for high-rise construction,
with hydraulic self climbing capability for total crane
independence and simple lifting operation.
MFE SAFETY SYSTEMS

SELF CLIMBING PLATFORM

Sections are designed for the building specifications Concrete pouring level
but reconfigurable for reuse on multiple projects

 Top working level for concrete pouring with 1.5m safety

screen Formwork level

 Mid level for formwork assembly

 Lower levels for external finishing

 Fully enclosed screens

 Full perimeter building enclosure including corners and External finishing level
recesses

 Construction 2.5 Levels and Trailing Finishing platforms

SELF CLIMBING PLATFORM

SIMPLE ON SITE ASSEMBLY

Platform components assembled 01 Safety screens installed before 02

on-site lifting and fitting to building
The platform frame and walkway components are assembled at a Safety screen options include low-cost mesh netting with safety rails,
suitable designated area on-site using assembly drawings provided. or fully enclosed perforated steel mesh for complete fall and drop
• Area of 20m x 20m should be allocated for assemble protection.
operations at site • 6-7 men required for assembly
• 2 platforms per day assembled and mounted to building

Two options for mounting points
Through wall mounting rod
Holes for wall mounting points are cast
into the wall and the platform mounting
points are installed.

The assembled platform sections are
lifted and docked onto the installed
mounting points by crane in sequence

SELF CLIMBING PLATFORM

LIFTING TO NEXT LEVEL

Simple hydraulic lifting process
1. The platform jacking sequence is allowed after the concrete has achieved 15 N/mm² strength

2. Fix spare climbing shoe to upper platform anchor point & attach to climbing rail

3. Attach and engage the hydraulic ram to middle platform anchor

4. Lift platform 10 mm to release load on the lower climbing shoe

5. Detached lower climbing shoe from anchor

6. Lift platform to the next level in stages of 500mm up the climbing rail

a) The climbing shoe ratchet engages with the climbing rail at 500 mm intervals ensuring
complete safety at each stage

b) Maximum drop in case of hydraulic failure limited to 499 mm by ratchet system

7. Repeat process to next level

SELF CLIMBING PLATFORM

LIFTING TO NEXT LEVEL

Three workers per platform and rapid lifting sequence reduces lifting costs

1. Lifting only requires three workers per platform section

2. Average platform lift 20 minutes

3. Three platforms lifted per hour

4. Lifting time example

 Assume perimeter of building made up of 60 platforms

 20 minutes per platform lift = 20 hours to lift entire perimeter

 8 hour working day will take 2.5 days to lift the entire perimeter

 Assume 20 floors = 50 days / 26 working days per month = 1.92 months

spent on lifting for the entire construction duration only using 3 workers
