XII Transportation
1. When using loading ramp
When loading or unloading the machine onto/from the transport vehicle using a loading ramp, observe
the following items:
(1) Load/unload the machine to/from the transport vehicle on firm and level surface.
Danger:
The tracks of the machine may fall off, if the transport vehicle or the loading ramps incline
excessively.
When loading and unloading, be sure to have a guide assist you so that the tracks do not fall
off the ramp and the transport vehicle bed.
(2) After loading the machine onto the transport vehicle, be sure to engage the rotation lock pin to
lock the turntable and prevent the turntable from being rotated during the transportation.
Advice:
Rotate the turntable slowly to align the both rotation lock pin holes located on the turntable
and on chassis, then insert the rotation lock pin into their holes.

(3) Check that all doors and covers of the machine are closed and latched securely.
(4) Tie down the chassis of the machine to the transport vehicle bed securely.
(5) Tie down the boom and the fly jib with placing a wood block under the boom and fly jib head to
prevent the boom and the fly jib from bouncing during the transportation.
(6) Tie down the platform so that it is not swung during the transportation. At this time, be sure to
allow the clearance between the bottom of the platform and the transport vehicle bed.
(7) Do not tighten the tie down the chains marked (*) too much. Tighten them just so that the platform
is not swung or bounced during the transportation.
See the figures on the following page for the detail of tie down procedures.
