Symptom

You send XI messages from a sender proxy system to an Adapter Framework using the URL
/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?ximessage=true. The messages cannot be processed in the Adapter
Framework due to a configuration error, and you receive one of the following error messages in the sender
proxy system:

• You receive the error code PARSING with the error text GENERAL. In the error object, you find the text
"Couldn't retrieve inbound binding for the given P/S/A values" in the long text, among other things.
• You receive the error code PARSING with the error text GENERAL. In the error object, you find the text
"MessageExpiredException".
• You receive the error code "CLIENT_RECEIVE_FAILED" or "CLIENT_SEND_FAILED". In the error
object, you find the text "Configuration error on Adapter-Framework(AFW)-Server" in the long text,
among other things.

Asynchronous messages with the processing type ExactlyOnce are then automatically restarted, even though
a new processing is not sensible before the configuration error has been corrected in the Adapter
Framework.

Reason and Prerequisites

You use SAP NetWeaver Process Integration (Exchange Infrastructure) as a local Integration Engine in a
sending application system, and the correction from SAP Note 2006842 or 2058289 is available. You notice
the problem described above with the automatic rescheduling of the messages.

This problem is caused by a program error.

Solution

Implement the attached correction instructions or import the specified Support Package.

The error handling is changed when you implement the correction. Asynchronous messages that have the
processing type ExactlyOnce and that cannot be processed due to a configuration error in the Adapter
Framework are removed from processing. After the configuration error has been corrected, you must restart

these messages manually.
