Series connection of Solar Modules
Objectives:
In this experiment, we aim to explore series connections of solar modules by documenting the V/I
characteristics of several series-connected arrays. These characteristics will help ascertain the
current
and voltage properties of the series connections.
Click the right-hand mouse button in the plotter area and select Properties from the context menu which
appears. On the scaling tab, perform the settings bellow.
A. The amperages through the individul solar modules are added together
B. The solar module conducting the lowest current determines the amperage through the series-
connected array.
C. The voltages acros the individual solar modules are added together
D. The voltage does not depend on the number of connected solar modules.

Conclusion
Through our experiment on series connections of solar modules, we gained valuable experience in
understanding the V/I characteristics of series-connected arrays. By documenting these
characteristics, we were able to analyze the current and voltage properties of the series connections
effectively. However, we encountered several challenges during the experiment, such as ensuring
proper calibration of the multimeter and addressing discrepancies in the plotted data. Through
collaborative efforts and troubleshooting, we successfully resolved these issues, allowing us to obtain
accurate results. Moving forward, we recommend enhancing the practice of laboratory
experimentation by providing more comprehensive training on instrument calibration and data
interpretation techniques.
Additionally, implementing regular equipment maintenance schedules can help minimize technical
issues and ensure smoother experimental procedures. Overall, our experience with series connections
of solar modules has not only deepened our understanding of solar energy systems but also
highlighted areas for improvement in laboratory practices.
