DLP Line Graph

The document provides a detailed lesson plan for a mathematics class on using line graphs to represent organized data. The lesson plan outlines learning competencies, subject matter, procedures for instruction, examples, practice activities, and evaluation. Students will learn to determine the appropriate graph for data, create and analyze graphs, and appreciate their importance. Examples include using a line graph to display the daily number of customers at a convenience store and the daily earnings of a store over five days. Students will practice constructing line graphs and answering questions about the data presented.

DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MATHEMATICS-7

(FOURTH QUARTER)

I. LEARNING COMPETENCY:
Use appropriate graphs to represent organized data: pie chart, bar graph, line
graph and histogram.

At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:

 Determine the appropriate graph for each set of data.
 Create and analyze graphs.
 Appreciate the importance of using appropriate graphs in presenting
Information.

II. SUBJECT MATTER:

Topic: Graphs to Represent Organized Data
Material: Quarter 4 Las 5 (Line Graph)

Preparatory Activity

1. Prayer
-Please all stand and feel the
- Please stand up for the prayer. presence of the lord. In the name of
the Father, and of the Son, and of
the Holy Spirit, Amen.
2. Greetings

- Good Morning Class! -Good Morning Ma’am.

- Okay class, before you take your

seat, kindly pick-up pieces of papers (Student follow the command of the
underneath your chairs and arrange it teacher)
properly.

- Okay thank you, you may now take

your seats. Please observe social
distancing and always wear your face
mask.

3. Checking of Attendance
- so before we proceed, I’m going to
check your attendance.

- Okay Very Good! No one is absent.

Review

- Okay class, who can tell to everyone - Ma’am, it was all about Bar
what was our lesson last meeting? Graph.

- Very good!

- What is Bar Graph? - It is a graph that made of

bars.
- That’s right!

- What are the uses of bar graph? - It is use for comparing two or
more values.
- Seems that you already understand
our lesson last meeting. Now we
proceed to the next topic, which is all
about Line Graph.

Presenting of the lesson

- Today, we will organize data using

Line graph.

- What is Line graph? - Graph that uses line to

connect individual data point.
- Very good!

- It is also a type of chart that used to

show information that changes over
time. We plot line graphs using
several points connected by straight
lines.

- A line graph displays quantitative

values over a specified time interval.

- The uses of Line graph are to track

changes over short and long period of
time. Line graph can also be used to
compare changes over the same
period of time for more than one
group.

- Let us discuss the example on Line

graph.
For Example:

The table shows number of customers

of XY convenience Store during a
typical week. Draw a line graph.

The following data gives the

information of the number of children
involved in different activities.

Day Sun Mon Tues Wed Thurs Fri Sat

Comparison and Abstraction

How to construct Line Graph.

Step 1: Identify the variables.

Step 2: Determine the variable range.
Step 3: Determine the scale of the
graph.
Step 4: Number and label each axis
and title the graph.
Step 5: Determine the data points and
plot on the graph.
Step 6: Draw the graph.

SOLUTION:

We use the horizontal axis for the days. Generally, the horizontal axis is
used as the time axis and the vertical axis is used to show the changes in
the other quality.

2. In what month did Carlo lose weight?
3. How many kilograms did Carlo weight
in September?
4. How much more is the weight of
Carlo in the month October than the
month of May?
5. How much less is the weight of Carlo
in the month of July than September?

- I will give you 5 minute to answer. You

may begin.

- Times up! Let’s check your work!
