After reading the text, summarize the main points of the fable in the forum as follow:

1. How the town was at the beginning?

It was a town that lived in harmony with its surroundings, it was in the middle of a

chessboard of prosperous farms with cereal fields and orchard hillsides, along the roads I found

laurels, viburnums, alders, large ferns and wild flowers during much of the year, even in winter

the roadsides were beautiful places with innumerable birds feeding on fences and the heads of

dry weeds raised above the snow, there were clear cold streams from the hills and these

contained puddles with trout

2. How it is now

It is a town with Many diseases, a plague swept over the area and everything began to

change, they swept away the flocks of chickens, Cattle and sheep sickened and died, everywhere

there was a shadow of death, farmers talk about diseases in their families, and doctors were

baffled by new types of diseases appearing among adults and children who struck suddenly while

playing and died hours later

3. How it is predicted to be in the future

On the farms the hens brooded, but no chicks hatched. The farmers complained that they

were unable to raise any pigs – the litters were small and the young survived only a few days.

The apple trees were coming into bloom but no bees droned among the blossoms, so there was

no pollination and there would be no fruit. The roadsides, once so attractive, were now lined with

brown and withered vegetation as though swept by fire. These, too, were silent, deserted by all

living things. Even the streams were now lifeless. Anglers no longer visited them, for all the fish

had died.
4. A fable is a story with a lesson; so, in your opinion What is the lesson that this fable

teaches?

We must worry more about taking care of the environment that surrounds us

Brainstorm: “A Fable for tomorrow” shows how people intervention or settlements have caused

irremediable consequences in a town; nowadays, overpopulation and consumerism has

accelerated the development of factories that pollute and overexploit non-renewable natural

resources, causing irreparable damage to our environment.

To reflect about that issue, you are going to complete the following chart, that will guide you in

your own composition. share it in the forum.

In the beginning we had the largest humid tropical forest in the world in front of a

mountain in the Caribbean Sea, from which numerous tributaries emanated, rivers with abundant

water, which flowed into the sea, we had exotic flora and fauna, a unique window to the world

for its geographical location, which enjoyed a number of animals for its exuberant vegetation,

being a pillar for life in the region, for the natives who live from the crops they sow.

One day without realizing it, we were touched by the evolution and development of the

societies that settled and colonized in it, and like the soul that the devil carries in his fire, this joy

disappeared, with the drying up of the rivers, the disappearance of the fauna and flora, derived

from human social expansion, which brought environmental poverty, and ceased to be the

tropical forest in front of a mountain in the Caribbean Sea, the largest in the world, where what

was a paradise for the natives became an incessant struggle for natural resources, forcing them to

migrate for improvements in their quality of life.

For which once the society established in the new social settlement developed, with the

facts of the weakening of the flora, fauna, the drying of the rivers, and its exuberant vegetation, it

will present a cracking of the settlers' quality of life, which which will reduce the conditions of

the current residents, if the necessary measures are not taken against their own actions.
