Marriam: Thomas Carlyle once said, “ A man lives by believing

something: not by debating and arguing about many things”.

Hmm.. Well, what can you say about that JULIA?!?!

Julia: Well I say NO, I believe debating will build us to be open-minded

and allow us to consider different perspectives. Therefore I conclude
that debate is the solution to our problems.

To the panel of judges, school management team, CLT facilitators,

fellow youth leaders, and guests.

Both: Good Afternoon, and Welcome! To the first and much-awaited

part of the Grand Finale Batch 2! It is an honor to facilitate the debate
contest for this grand finale.

Julia: To define a debate, it is a formal discussion on a particular matter

in a public meeting or legislative assembly, in which opposing
arguments are put forward and which usually ends with a vote.

Marriam: But, what is the topic of the debate? The topic for today is “AI
writing generators are beneficial to education.”

Julia: On the Affirmative side, we have them agreeing with the term
that, YES, AI writing generators are beneficial to education.

Marriam: Meanwhile on the Negative side, they will be arguing with a

strong word, NO, AI writing generations are NOT beneficial to
education.
Marriam: Hmm, since Julia is a CHAMPION in the Grand Finale Batch 1
and yours truly is a CHAMPION herself, why don't we challenge and
share our thoughts in this venture of the debate session!?
Since this is a debate, You have to choose your side.

Julia: I believe in the….AFFIRMATIVE TEAMM!

Marriam: Alright, well I go for the Negative side!

Marriam: As smart students, what are our personal thoughts on today's

topic?

Julia: For me, as a high school student, I think AI can really help us learn
better. It's like having a really smart friend that helps us understand
tricky things. With AI, we can get personalized lessons that match how
we learn best, which makes studying easier. Some cool apps and tools
to explain topics in a way that's easier to understand. Plus, AI can help
teachers save time on paperwork, so they have more time to focus on
teaching us. In the end, I could say AI has the GOLDEN KEY to make
school more fun and easier for all of us.

Julia: How about you Marriam?

Marriam: Well, I guess I can say that I PARTIALLY agree BUT, if we lean
on it too much, we might miss out on developing our thinking skills. We
gotta keep things balanced between using technology and learning the
old-fashioned way. Also, we can't ignore the possible biases and ethical
issues that come with relying too heavily on AI.
Julia: Okay, okay you have a point but today's debate will determine the
true winner.

Marriam: Youth Leaders and guests are you ready to witness the battle
of words by our smart IPSAns?

Both: May we present to you, this afternoon’s debate speakers.

Julia: Starting with the affirmative team. They stand for, yes, AI Writing
Generator is beneficial to education. Let us welcome their leader, YL
Simmone Jairus D. Manuel. And the members, YL Margaux Y.
Francisco, YL Esther Joy R. Valeros, YL Joanna Marie A. Ibanez, and YL
Maria Erika G. Ladra.

Marriam: Next is the negative team. They stand for, no, AI Writing
Generator isn’t beneficial to education. With their leader YL Yuan
Mikhail Jirelle DR. Cruz. And the members YL Keithlene Chloe B.
Magnaye, YL Krysten Naomi B. De Belen, YL Harry Gabriel G. Ilagan,
and YL Franchesca A. Eugenio.

Julia: Along with the debate, the speakers must follow strict time limits.
Hence, we have here our timers, YL Zayden Frae B. J-Chavez and
YL Dane Gabriel C. Tubig. To qualify for an award, the speakers must
speak for three to five minutes, with a grace period of 30 seconds. The
timers will be keeping track of time through the colored lights. The
green light will be flashed when the speaker has spoken for 3 minutes,
the yellow light at 4 minutes, and the red light will stay at five minutes.
At the end, for the summarization of teams the time limit would be 1 to
3 minutes.

Marriam: They should be judged by the following criteria:

Organization and Clarity 10 points
Use of Arguments 10 points
Use of Cross-Examination and Rebuttal 10 points
And Presentation Style for 10 Points
A total of 40 points

Julia: Let's not keep you waiting, and present to you…

The leader, as the first speaker of the affirmative team. YL Simmone
Jairus D. Manuel

Marriam: You have heard YL Simmone, the leader of the affirmative

team. Next is the leader of the negative team. YL Yuan Mikhail Jirelle
DR. Cruz

Julia: Thank you for that, YL Yuan, the leader of the negative team. So
now we are ready to hear some more arguments..perhaps
counterarguments. Let us now welcome the second speaker of the
affirmative team. YL Margaux Y. Francisco

Marriam: Thank you, YL Margaux, let us see how the second speaker of
the negative team reacts to that. Take it away, YL Keithlene Chloe B.
Magnaye.
Julia: Thank you for that YL Keithlene. Let us now welcome the third
speaker from the affirmative team. YL Esther Joy R. Valeros

Marriam: Let’s now hear from the third speaker of the negative team.
YL Krysten Naomi B. De Belen

Julia: Wow YL Krysten. Now let us welcome the fourth speaker of the
affirmative team. YL Joanna Marie A. Ibanez

Marriam: You have heard YL Joanna of the affirmative team. Next from
the negative team to speak his arguments. The fourth speaker YL Harry
Gabriel G. Ilagan

Julia: Thank you for that YL Harry. Ladies and gentlemen we are now
down to the two speakers of both teams. So let us now welcome the
affirmative team’s fifth speaker, YL Maria Erika G. Ladra.

Marriam: Thank you, YL Erika, let us see how the fifth speaker of the
negative team reacts to that. Take it away, YL Franchesca A. Eugenio.

Julia: Wow YL Franchesca. There we have it. At this time, we go back to

the team leaders for their 1-3 minutes of summation. May I call back
the leader of the negative team, YL Yuan Mikhail Jirelle DR. Cruz.

Marriam: Thank you the team leader of the negative team. Now to give
his 1-3 minutes summation, we call back the team leader of the
affirmative team. YL Simmone Jairus D. Manuel
Julia: Thank you team leader YL Simmone Jairus D. Manuel. Wow that
was an intense word war. And there we have it the exchanging of
arguments and rebuttals. What about a round of applause to all youth
leaders.

Marriam: May we ask Team A to stand up and face the audience. And
youth leaders let us give them a warm round of applause.

Marriam: May we also ask Team B the negative team to stand up. And
we shall also give them a warm round of applause.

Marriam: Now take your seats because we are not done.

Julia: May we hear the timers report from YL Zayden and YL Dane.

Julia: Alright thank you, and once again let us give them a round of
applause.

Marriam: You all did well, and a job well done! Each team was able to
speak their thoughts clearly about AI around us. You have showcased
your confidence, fast thinking, critical thinking, and smart thinking skills.
AI truly has a powerful impact on education.
Marriam: Once again it is our honor and pleasure to facilitate today’s
debate.
Marriam: I am Marriam T. Argarin
Julia: I am Julia C. Tambauan
Both: Thank you so much, good afternoon, and back to you youth
leaders of the day.
