Definition of
Operating System
• An operating system (OS) serves as a crucial
software component that establishes a
communication bridge between the computer
hardware and the user. It provides a robust

Functions of Operating System

• Handles the execution and scheduling of processes, essentially overseeing


programs in their active state.
• Manages the creation, termination, and synchronization of processes to
ensure efficient utilization of computing resources.

Memory Management

• Takes charge of organizing and controlling computer memory.

their requirements.
