specified in JIS B 0601: 2013 in terms of arithmetic average roughness (Ra).
2. For surface waviness, the arithmetic average waviness (Wa) is specified in JIS B 0601: 2013.
3. The normal finish surface roughness is not stipulated. Instead, the generally managed roughness range
is shown as a reference value.

1.0 min. 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.4 (1.6) (1.8) (2.0) (2.3) (2.5) (2.8) (3.2)
Remarks: 1. Standard dimensions shall be used for cold-rolled steel sheets with a width of 500 mm min. The
dimensions of steel sheets with a width less than 500 mm shall be agreed upon between the parties
concerned with shipping and receiving.
2. For steel sheets with a thickness of 1.6 mm min. indicated in ( ), hot-rolled steel sheets (NES M 2021)
shall be used. For a steel sheet with a thickness less than 1.6 mm, a cold rolled carbon steel shall
be used. (However, only in the case in which a hot rolled carbon steel sheet with a thickness 1.6 mm is
currently used, the use of the hot rolled carbon steel sheet is allowed.)
3. Specifications marked with Tentative) are standards for which continued use is only possible with orders
that have proven results. They shall not be newly adopted.

7.2 Tolerance of thickness

Tolerance of thickness shall be in accordance with Table 8 (Tolerance of thickness A in JIS G 3141).

3.15 min. 0.16 0.17 0.19 0.20 ―
Remarks: 1. In principle, the tolerance shall be used for cold-rolled steel sheets with a width of 500 mm min.
2. For specially required steels such as shims or steels with a width of less than 500 mm, a special
tolerance may be specified by agreement between the parties concerned with shipping and receiving.
3. The tolerance shall not be used for abnormal areas of the coil.
4. Regarding the steel types with Q or E, the target thickness shall be -2% and -3% of the nominal thickness
for the steel types with Q and E respectively. The thickness tolerance shall be controlled in accordance
with the following.
Q (More strictly controlled target thickness by 2%): The tolerance in the thickest direction shall be the
absolute value of the tolerance shown in above Table 8 + the nominal thickness x 0.02.
The tolerance in the thinnest direction shall be the absolute value of the tolerance shown in above
Table 8 - the nominal thickness x 0.02.
E (More strictly controlled target thickness by 3%): The tolerance in the thickest direction shall be the
absolute value of the tolerance shown in above Table 8 + the nominal thickness x 0.03.
The tolerance in the thinnest direction shall be the absolute value of the tolerance shown in above
Table 8 - the nominal thickness x 0.03.
Therefore, the total of the thickness tolerance for the steel types with Q and E shall not be any different
from the total of the thickness tolerance for the steel type without Q and E.
When the application of the steel type with E is to be studied, confirm with the Purchasing Department
whether or not it is possible to adopt such a steel type in advance.
5. The applicable thickness is as shown in Table 1-1.

Remarks: 1. For flatness, use a steel sheet cut from a steel strip for which appropriate flatness correction has been
applied. The flatness means a value obtained by deducting the nominal thickness of steel sheet placed
on the surface plate from the measured value of maximum distortion. It shall be measured on the upper
surface of the steel sheet. (Fig. 1)
2. In addition to the above, flatness may be specified through agreement between the parties concerned
with shipping and receiving in cases where especially severe control is required.
3. For the coil, it shall be the reference standard. Flatness shall be specified through agreement between
the parties concerned with shipping and receiving when it is harmful for practical use.

SP125 t0.75
SP122K t0.8 (Application of solid lubricant specified)
SP120 t0.9 (No specification of mechanical properties)

14. REPORT
If the manufacturing process of the steel or any agreement between the parties is changed, such change
shall be reported and approved before implementation.
If the change covers the entire Nissan group, it shall be reported to the Material Department of Nissan
Headquarters and the responsible sections of Production Engineering Department and Material
Engineering Department. If the change is limited to a plant, it shall be reported to the Engineering
Department and the Inspection Department of the plant.

15. OTHERS
Appearance, weight and inner and outer diameters of the coil shall be determined by agreement between
the concerned parties at each plant.
