2021 MC 52 Lab Report

This project report describes a remote controlled car that was presented for an open ended embedded systems lab. The RC car uses an FMRX2BMS microcontroller and lithium batteries to power both the car and its remote. Images show the assembled car from different angles and the labelled motherboard. The report provides specifications of the components used and discusses some common uses of remote controlled vehicles.

Introduction:
It was open ended lab of embedded systems in which architecture of different
devices was studied. A task was given to us to bring an embedded device which include some
kind of micro-controller. A remote controlled car was presented by me for this task.
A RC car allows the user to control the car's speed and movement through the use of a hand-held
device just like a radio controlled care does. While it may not offer the same maneuverability, it
also doesn't require differentiation between frequencies in order to use more than one remote
control toy.
Specifications:

 In this car, FMRX2BMS has been used.

 A typical 5V motor is used.
 A capacitor is used across the motor.
 Lithium batteries are used both in car and its remote to supply power.
 A beautiful casing assembly has been used to give the car a fine look.
Uses:

 The primary reason why you need to play with these cars is that they are fun. There is
nothing so satisfying as watching this small, powerful car tear through the backyard with
60 Mph, and quickly blazing across your pavement as you steers it and control the speed
as you like.
 Remote-control vehicles are used in law enforcement and military engagements for
some of the same reasons.
 Hazard exposure is mitigated for the operator of the vehicle, who controls it from a
location of relative safety.
 Remote-controlled vehicles are also used for bomb disposal.

IC Specifications:

 IC used in this circuit was FMRX2BMS.

 It is based on Harvard architecture as most of the IC’s and microcontrollers are based on
this architecture.
 It is RISC kind of architecture.
 No other microcontroller was used in its circuit.
