PROJECT BACKGROUND

Introduction

Setting up a business nowadays is challenging because there is so many

competitors. To run a successful business, they must competent enough and they

can easily adopt to the changing conditions of business. In order to adapt, a

company must have its antennae tuned to trends of business environment changes,

understand them, and quickly react to refine or transform its business model. The

attitude that entrepreneurs need to possess to have a successful business must be

able to effectively communicate, sell, focus, learn, and strategize. An ability to

continuously learn is not just a key entrepreneurial skill, but also a very valuable life

skill. Growing a business requires a sound strategy based on inherent business

sense and skills. Conducting a feasibility study can help the business examine

potential risks to determine whether they're worth taking. A comprehensive feasibility

study can distinguish real economic opportunities from investments that could fail.

An idea of building a business is great but they are only as great as their

execution. A feasibility study will help clarify what goals need to put in place to be

successful by providing benchmarks for a project’s viability. A feasibility study helps

you understand your facility’s costs as well as its revenue earning potential. With this

information in hand, you can either obtain the resources needed to complete your

project or “right-size” your project based on available resources.

The proponents would like to introduce “Athens Aroma” a Filipino brand-new

perfume business that provides the customers unique and quality products that can

make you confident, we will sell it in affordable price so that everyone can afford it. It

offers variety of scents that everyone will like it.

According to Rachel Grabenhofer (2018), fragrances and flavors are well-

known for their ability to tap into primordial feeling and instincts, so marketers

continue the search for new ways to tap into and initiate their powerful influence. It’s

no wonder why fragrances and flavors remain as relevant today as ever as do some

of their formulation challenges.

History of the project

Our perfume is oil-based product with oil-based perfume wear differently to

alcohol-based perfumes. While there’s less projection with the perfume wearing

closer to the skin, there is better longevity since the oil molecules hold the perfume

down for longer. Alcohol-based perfumes are quite diffusive and have an intense

initial flash, due to the alcohol that evaporates quickly and transports the aromatic

molecules around the wearer. With oil-based perfumes, the scent is slightly more

subtle and has a slow reveal but lingers on one’s skin for longer. This also has to do

with the fact that the longevity of a perfume is increased when applied on

moisturized skin, as opposed to dry skin where the scent just disappears after a

while. Using an oil perfume cancels out the need to moisturize the beforehand as the

oil base hydrates the skin as a result.

The proponents want to establish a business that every Filipino will love the

scent. The owner of this business wanted to innovate a perfume that not yet visible

in the market. Every business comes with their own uniqueness, with that Athens

Aroma main special ingredient is oil.

The idea of creating this business established in 2023, when the owner

wanted to create an oil based and long-lasting perfume, we the owner of this

business we wanted to create long lasting perfumes because fragrance has the
ability to improve mood and create a positive atmosphere. Certain fragrances are

known to have mood-boosting properties, such as lavender, which is known for its

calming and relaxing properties. Owners inspired to make perfume because some

people can't even leave the house without a bottle of their signature scent. They will

use oil based as main ingredient because perfume oils offer several benefits over

traditional perfumes. They tend to have longer-lasting scents, can be customized to

individual preferences, are often gentler on the skin, provide portability and

convenience, and offer complex and nuanced fragrance profiles. They came up with

a non-food product named "Athens Aroma" that inspired to the scent of God and

Goddesses.

The idea of the owners continues as they want to be a leading business in

perfume industry that will satisfy our customers preferences. Athens Aroma: the

name of the business, was created. It will be a non-food business in Rodriguez, Rizal

that offer a variety of fragrances.

The process of making the product requires skills because you need the

ability to discern subtle differences between various scents and ingredients is crucial

in creating exceptional fragrances, yet it is manageable. The business will be having

a physical store located at Montalban Town Center Bridge and will be having online

store such as Facebook, Instagram for the convenience of the customers.

Background information of the study

Perfume is used to give a pleasant and desirable scent to a person’s body,

typically, with the aim of increasing self-appeal and self-confidence. Perfume is a

blend of fragrant essential oils or aroma compounds, fixatives, and solvents used to

provide a pleasant scent to the human body, animals, food, objects, and living
places. It's normally in liquid form, and it's used to give a person's body a nice

aroma. The word perfume comes from the Latin perfumer, which literally means "to

smoke through." Perfumery began in ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt and was

developed by the Romans and Arabs. Perfume is now widely utilized by people of

various ages, genders, and cultures from all over the world. The evolution of perfume

from a luxurious commodity to a fashionable one, as well as the introduction of new

brands to the market, has made it more difficult.

According to Smith and Wade (2008), the reason most women like perfume is

the pheromone produced by their bodies. Usually, these scents or perfumes trigger

an increase in the pheromone produced by the female body. In studies carried out,

nearly 80% of all women will make a perfume purchase at least each year. Not only

does smelling great make a woman feel good about herself, but it will make her feel

attractive also. Roses have existed and have been recorded for longer than most of

our garden plants. Their earliest record seems to be rose leaves. These include such

diverse ones as honeysuckle, moss, hyacinth, honey, wine, marigold, peppers,

parsley, and fruits such as raspberry. In addition, “roses with the best scents are

darker colors, have more petals, and have thick or velvety petals. Red and pink

roses often smell like what we term “rose”. White and yellows often smell of violets,

nasturtium, and lemon. Orange roses often smell of fruits, violets, nasturtium, and

clove (Perry, 1998). A lot wonder why some perfumes last and others don’t. Lord

(1992), states that a scent not only changes over time, but with time of day. Early

morning is when scents are strongest, the oils are most powerful, and so when roses

are harvested for rose oil. Rose scent may be more powerful with the first blooms of

summer. Rose scent even can challenge outdoor.

Due to Filipinos’ love to the perfumes, the proponents came up with the idea

of having a perfumes business that offer a unique scent that inspired to the God and

Goddesses’ fragrance. It is also marketable in the market because as a Filipino, it is

part of our culture to smell good every time.

“Athens Aroma” is the name of the business because it is inspired by the God

and Goddesses. As we go through to this business, we ensure the safety and health

standards will be our priority. Different sanitary procedures will be prioritized and

monitored during the production of perfume the safety of our customers is our

priority. Perfumes are the one most common and important to our daily life, and

ensuring you are smelling good and also perfume can uplift the mood and boosting

morale. As a natural aphrodisiac, perfumes may make you appear more attractive.

Perfumes have mood-enhancing effects and may help combat stress and other

anxiety-related. Your ability to smell also plays a key role in your health. If your ability

to smell declines, it can affect your diet and nutrition, physical well-being, and

everyday safety. Because of the rising competition in the perfume industry, the

proponents decided to establish Athens Aroma to serve everyone unique and brand-

new fragrance that new to market that Filipino will surely love. Proponents aims to

Plazos, and Jeralyn Tan.

A partnership is a formal contract involving two or more entities collaborating

to oversee and manage a business while jointly assuming responsibility for both its

profits and obligations. This legal association arises when two or more individuals or

companies come together, typically through a written agreement, to establish a

business relationship. Each partner contributes capital to the business, and in return,

they receive a share of the profits and bear a portion of any financial losses incurred.

Athens Aroma operates as a general partnership, comprising four individuals

who share mutual skills and interests in the field. In a general partnership, a

business arrangement unfolds wherein two or more individuals jointly share

Project Description

Perfume remains an important and expanding element of the fragrance

industry. It’s an excellent practice to take care of oneself by ensuring you smell nice,

elevating your attitude, and boosting morale. Perfume selections have grown to

accommodate a wide range of tastes. However, nowadays, perfumes are most likely

to have a mixture of essential oils and aroma compounds, fixatives, and solvent used

to give the human body, animals, objects, and living spaces a pleasant scent. It is

known for their natural aphrodisiac qualities which can enhance your attractiveness,

while also offering mood-improving benefits that can assist in alleviating stress and

addressing anxiety-related issues.

Perfumes are increasingly being made with synthetic ingredients rather than

natural oils. Less concentrated perfumes are getting more popular as well. These

variables, when combined, lower the cost of the smells, enabling more widespread

and regular, often daily use. The industry’s innovative developments are using scent

to heal, make people feel good, and improve relationships between each other. The

sense of smell is a right brain activity that governs emotions, memory, and creativity.

Aromatherapy, which involves inhaling oils and smells to treat physical and

emotional issues, is being reintroduced to help balance hormone and bodily

energies. Aromatherapy theory holds that when essential oils are breathed or

administered topically, they assist boost the immune system. These fragrances have

an effect on one’s mood and can be utilized as a sort of psychotherapy.

Therefore, the Athens Aroma envisions the creation and launch of a

captivating fragrance that embodies the essence of Athens, Greece. This project

aims to introduce a unique and evocative perfume to the competitive global

fragrance market. “Athens Aroma” will capture the spirit of this historic city through a
blend of aromatic notes inspired by its rich cultural heritage and vibrant landscapes.

The creation of a pleasing perfume is at the foundation of the “Athens Aroma”

initiative. Our team of skilled perfumers and aroma experts will carefully create a

fragrance that captures the fascination of Athens. The final product will be subjected

to thorough testing to guarantee that it fulfills the highest quality requirements,

resulting in a perfume that appeals to consumers looking for a refined and one-of-a-

kind aromatic experience. The proponents would like to introduce “Athens Aroma” a

Filipino brand-new perfume business that provides the customers unique and quality

Population and Sample Design

As stated in philatlas.com, Montalban, Rizal had a population of 443,954 in

the 2020 Census. This accounted for 13.33% of Rizal province’s total population and

2.74% of CALABARZON’s total population. Proponents feel that due to a lack of

product awareness, they may not have touched a large section of the population.

Certain people may be unaware of the scent being promoted or may have never

heard of it. Furthermore, prospective consumers frequently prefer scents they are

acquainted with, which may make them hesitant to try a new perfume.

Supply Study

The supply relationship is the relationship between the quantity of a good or

service and its price. It is the amount of a product or service that is available for

purchase on a market. Quantity supplied is defined as how much of a good or

service a seller is willing and able to supply at a given price.

The company’s investigation extended to analyzing the products offered by

competitors. This analysis encompassed both the volume, referring to the quantity of

products available, and the peso, denoting the pricing aspect. By studying the

volume and peso of similar products in the market, the company gained valuable

insights into the competitive landscape. This information allowed them to fine-tune

their own supply strategy, ensuring they could offer a competitive quantity and price

for their goods or services. Such market research is pivotal in making informed

decisions and staying competitive in a dynamic business environment.

Inflation Rate Formula

Proponents can use this technique to calculate inflation when ingredient

prices fluctuate. Ingredient prices might rise or decline depending on the health of

the economy. The inflation rate formula helps us to understand how much the price

of goods and services in an economy is now Php ____ and in the previous year the

same was Php _____, then the inflation rate is pricing at Php _____.

Pricing

The prices for each perfume of Athens Aroma is based on the single prices of

each raw material and ingredients included in the preparation offered by our

Business. These prices are subject to change depending on the cost of raw

materials, packaging and consumable materials or known as COGS (Cost of Good

Sold).

In response, we decided to provide our items at fair yet reasonable costs. To

establish the price to set for our items, we used the cost plus method. This is the

simplest and most widely used pricing process. The overall material cost plus the

mark-up determines the price of each of our items.

Computation:

Total = The total amount of Unit Cost per item.

Production Quantity = Athens Aroma Quantity made by proponents.

Production Costing = The quotient of Total and Production Quantity.

Costing = The product of Production Costing multiply by number of unit proponents
