Crafting a Literature Review: A Daunting Task

Writing a literature review can often be a daunting task for many individuals. It requires extensive
research, critical analysis, and the ability to synthesize information from various sources. Whether
you're a student working on an academic paper or a professional delving into research for a project,
the literature review sets the stage for your work by providing a comprehensive overview of existing
literature on your chosen topic.

One of the biggest challenges in writing a literature review is the sheer volume of information
available. With countless articles, books, journals, and other sources to sift through, it can be
overwhelming to identify which ones are relevant to your topic and which ones are not.
Additionally, each source must be carefully evaluated for its credibility, relevance, and contribution
to the field.

Another hurdle is organizing the information in a coherent and logical manner. A literature review
should not only summarize existing research but also identify gaps, inconsistencies, and areas for
further investigation. This requires careful planning and structuring of the review to ensure that the
reader can follow your argument and understand the significance of each source.

Furthermore, writing a literature review requires strong analytical skills. You must be able to
critically evaluate each source, assess its strengths and weaknesses, and draw connections between
different studies. This process involves more than just summarizing the findings of each source – it
requires you to engage with the material on a deeper level and provide your own insights and
interpretations.

Given the complexities involved, many individuals find themselves struggling to write a literature

I have a lot of thoughts about them from a user's point of view but none from an engineer's or a
public authority's perspective. The only other important thing to know about drawing a concept map
is that you need to start with a question. Often when I have done that, a top down concept map
becomes clearer and I can then create a concept map when it was not previously clear how to proceed
or even what question to set that the concept map could answer. Do you think that would just be
overkill and actually interfere with the ultimate goal of writing a review. She then lists program
profiles and a description of schemes. I then try to put the thoughts into related groups. I think I still
prefer the old fashioned outline method in my own writing. You could try reading Joseph D Novak's
book mentioned above, it is the original work on concept maps and gives examples of concept maps
produced by children. Youth believe their voice matters and they experience a sense of belonging 2.
If you do include tables as part of your review each must be accompanied by an analysis that
summarizes, interprets and synthesizes the literature that you have charted in the table. These
partnerships can also be a valuable source for capital contributions that help bring projects to fruition.
