FS2Crew: Fenix A320 for MSFS

MAIN OPS MANUAL

- FS2CREW.COM 1
REQUIREMENTS:

The following program requirements are in effect:

Operating Systems Supported:

Windows 10, 11 or greater

Additional Requirements:

Fenix A320 for MSFS host aircraft (not included with FS2Crew)
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020
If using Voice Control: Headset or Microphone (USB headset recommended)

GENERAL NOTES:

• You are the Captain and the Pilot Flying.

• The computer simulates the role of the First Officer and Pilot Not Flying (PNF) /
Monitoring (PM).

• The interface system is vastly different from the FSX/ P3D versions of FS2Crew.

• A new ASSIST panel system displays available voice commands, available checklist
responses and crew flow actions directly inside the simulation. The goal is to allow users
to learn the software without using a traditional PDF manual.

• If you get stuck on a voice checklist response not being detected, speak: “SET AND
CHECKED.” That’s the backup phrase.

• If you require support or there is something you do not understand, please visit the
FS2Crew Support Forum or use our Discord Channel. Remember, there are no dumb
questions!

- FS2CREW.COM 2
GETTING STARTED:

• Download the FS2Crew Product Manager: https://fs2crew.com/downloads/

• Download FS2Crew for the Fenix A320 via the FS2Crew Product Manager.

• The FS2Crew installer will run silently.

• Run MSFS and load the Fenix A320 aircraft.

• Open the MSFS Toolbar and open the FS2Crew Command Center by clicking the
FS2Crew icon (the airplane nose icon) as shown below:

• Select FENIX SIMULATIONS A320 in the drop-down menu and click LAUNCH
APPLICATION.

• The FS2Crew panels should appear. If you have not yet activated FS2Crew for the
Fenix, you will be prompted to enter your Serial Code. Your Serial Code is viewable in
your on-line FS2Crew account, or from wherever you purchased FS2Crew.

- FS2CREW.COM 3
• The panel (shown below) on the right is the FS2Crew menu associated with the
FS2Crew stand-alone EXE.

• You may drag this panel to a second monitor if desired. You may also minimize this
panel by pressing the yellow minimize icon. If the pin icon is selected, the panel will
never close.

• The panel on the left (the one built into the Command Center) performs many of the
same functions found in the main stand-alone panel. If you are using a VR headset, you
would typically use this panel since it is embedded into the Tool Bar and therefore visible
in your VR headset.

• However, if you wish to access the SETTINGS panel, you must use the stand-alone
panel not contained in the MSFS Tool Bar. The SETTINGS panel is not visible via the
MSFS Tool Bar.

- FS2CREW.COM 4
• Tool tips are associated with each button in either panel. Mouse over each button to
learn more about each button. An option is available on the Settings Panel to
disable/enable tool tips. Again, if you have any doubts, please post your question in our
Support Forum or on our Discord Channel.

IMPORTANT! IF THE PANEL IS BLANK...

• If the panel on the left in the Tool Bar is blank, please ensure you have ENABLE HTTP
SERVER checked on the FS2Crew Settings Panel (GEAR ICON).

- FS2CREW.COM 5
• Like other MSFS developers, FS2Crew uses an internal server to pass data between
the FS2Crew Command Center (which runs inside MSFS) and the FS2Crew main
program, which runs outside of the MSFS process as an external EXE. This is done via
our HTTP Server. Please ensure the associated option shown below is checked. It may
be unchecked by default the first time you load FS2Crew depending on your current
level of privileges.

• You will then be prompted to give the NETWORK COMMAND SHELL permissions to
access your device. Please select YES. This panel may be hidden ‘behind’ the
FS2Crew panel, so if you do not see it, minimize the FS2Crew panel so you can see it.

• Additional Trouble Shooting information can be found here:

https://fs2crew.com/fs2crew-command-center-troubleshooting/

It is important that the FS2Crew COMMAND CENTER auto-starts when MSFS or

Windows starts.

If your EXE.xml file is corrupt (and it is an easy for it to become corrupt since multiple
developers write to it now), the COMMAND CENTER will not auto start when MSFS
loads. In fact, if the EXE.XML is sufficiently corrupt, it can cause MSFS to crash on
startup.

The general solution is to delete your EXE.xml (make a backup first), then re-install
FS2Crew. FS2Crew will rebuild a fresh new EXE.xml that will clear of any corruption
(usually invalid characters).

However, a better option is also available on the SETTINGS PANEL to have the
Command Center auto start when Windows starts, thus bypassing the EXE.xml
altogether.

- FS2CREW.COM 6
NOTES ABOUT SETUP OPTIONS:

• You can select your desired interface mode on the FS2Crew SETTINGS PANEL, which
is accessible by clicking the Gear Icon symbol on the Main Panel:

Voice Control = Voice Control

Button Control = Button Control
Auto Respond = Button Control but you do not need to manually press the Main Button
to respond to each checklist item. It is automatic.

• If using Voice Control, you can check your speech recognition status by pressing
SPEECH STS in the INFO CENTER.

- FS2CREW.COM 7
THE ASSIST PANEL:

• The ASSIST panel was designed to help users learn the simulation without being
required to constantly reference an external PDF manual. (However, we appreciate that
some users still prefer a good PDF document that lists flows, checklist responses, etc.,
and you will find that information at the bottom of this manual.)

• The critical information needed to fly is displayed directly in the ASSIST panel.
The ASSIST panel can be toggled by pressing the YELLOW CHECKMARK icon located
to the left of the INFO CENTER icon.

Checklist Assist = Displays available responses in a Checklist.

Voice Command Assist = Displays available suggested Voice Commands.

Note that these are “suggested” voice commands. Just because the voice
command is there, it does not mean you need to call for it immediately. Use your
own judgement.

Capt / PF Flows Assist = Displays suggested actions for the Captain / Pilot
Flying. These actions are typically referred to as “flows.”

• If you are using VR mode, the same information can be displayed via the in game MSFS
TOOL BAR as shown below:

- FS2CREW.COM 8
GSX INTEGRATION:
To enable the GSX integration you need to check the following option in Config panel:

Once enabled, F2Crew will be able to request different GSX services during the FS2Crew Pre-
Flight phase. The following services are called automatically by FS2Crew: Catering, Fuel,
Boarding, Jetway, Pushback and Stairs. The only service that will be triggered or called
outside the Pre-Flight phase is Stand/Remote Deicing. Under Voice Control mode, there are
additional commands, which are designed to be used when you are not using the FS2Crew Pre-
Flight phase, so you can verbally (manually) request any of the previously mentioned GSX
services. These are the commands:

• Request boarding please.

• Request refueling please.
• Request catering please.
• Connect/release the jetway please.
• Connect/release the stairs please.
• Engines off/running request deicing only one/two step.
• We can start de boarding now.
• Cockpit to ground, we are ready for pushback.
• Cockpit to ground, good start confirmed, please disconnect.
• Cockpit to ground, stop here, please disconnect.

Additionally, there are these voice commands you can use at any time to control GSX menu via
voice commands:

• Toggle GSX menu please.

• Select GSX option (1…8). e.g.: “Select GSX option one.” Or “Select GSX option
eight.”

MODIFYING PRE-FLIGHT SEQUENCE TIMING:

If you think that you need more time between the pre-flight phase events to perform your flows
or procedures, you can pause or resume the pre-flight timer by right-clicking with the mouse on
the pre-flight timer button. When the pre-flight timer gets paused it will turn into red color as
shown below:

To resume the timer, just right-clicking with the mouse on it again. If you are under Voice
Control mode, you can use the following voice commands to achieve the same:

• Resume pre-flight timer.

• Pause pre-flight timer.

PHASE: PREFLIGHT EVENTS

Note: Running the Pre-Flight Events is OPTIONAL. You can start the Pre-Flight events routine
by clicking the blue Clock icon, or, if using Voice Control, you may speak: “LET’S START
SETTING UP.”
For the Clock icon to be visible, the engines must be off. We will assume the aircraft is COLD
AND DARK.
+30 minutes

• First officer performs the PRELIMINARY COCKPIT PREPARATION flow.

• After the flow and if the option is enabled: First Officer will go out for the walk around.

GSX integration: It will automatically request the fuel truck. If for any reason, it couldn’t
request the fuel truck, it will request the catering service. After that, it will connect the
Jetway, if available, otherwise, it will request the stairs.

+25 minutes

GSX integration: If catering service could not be requested, it will request catering now.

+23 minutes

• If the option is enabled: The First Officer comes back from the walk around.
• Perform the DEPARTURE brief.
• After the DEPARTURE brief, perform the COCKPIT PREPARATION flow.
• Call for the COCKPIT PREPARATION checklist.

+20 minutes

• Flight attendant requests if boarding can commence.

GSX integration: If you reply with a “YES” to the FA question, it will request boarding.

+10 minutes

• Flight attendant delivers the load sheet.

• Perform the BEFORE START flow.
• Call for the BEFORE START checklist.

+2 minutes

• Flight attendant asks to close doors.

GSX integration: Before FA asks for close doors, it will check GSX status, if it still doing
anything (like for example boarding or if there is any pending ground service to finish), it
will reset the Pre-Flight timer to +7 minutes, to give time GSX to finish. It’s IMPORTANT
to have in mind that this will be kept in a loop when it reaches +2 minutes, and if GSX
didn’t finish its pending requests and/or services, it will keep resetting to +7 minutes in
the FS2Crew Pre-Flight timer, to allow GSX to complete all its pending operations prior
to pushback. If FS2Crew doesn’t detects GSX is doing anything when it comes back to
+2 minutes, the FA will ask for close doors, and if you say “YES” she will close the door.
If icing conditions are detected, it will display voice commands, or under “Button Control”
mode, the secondary button for request deicing.

+1 minute

• Jetway disconnects.
• Request pushback and start clearance.

GSX integration: Automatically it will disconnect jetway or stairs, depending on if you

are at a terminal gate parking spot or a remote parking area. At this moment, it may
display voice commands, or the secondary button, for allow you to request GSX
pushback.
FS2CREW FENIX CHECKLIST

GSX integration: After completing the After Start checklist, it will display voice commands, in
Voice Control mode, or the secondary button, if under Button Control mode, for allow you to
confirm a good engine start or to stop the pushback process to the ground crew.
After completing the Parking checklist, FS2Crew will automatically request the de-boarding
process.
