IMAGE PROCESSING BASED IMPROVED ONLINE ATTENDANCE MARKING SYSTEM USING
FACIAL RECOGNITION
2022 September- 2023 April: Undergraduate Research Project, Final Year
The image processing based online attendance marking using facial recognition research aims to reduce
the time wastage of session time and identify the actual number of participants who attended the session
by preventing false attendance marking. This project is final year undergraduate individual research. It is
based on image-processing techniques, computer vision, artificial intelligence, and machine learning
algorithms. This is a software-simulated project and Python is used for coding. Open Cv is used as a
computer vision. Haar cascade and LBPH algorithms are used for face detection and face recognition. The
system developed in this study operates in real time and employs the Haar Cascade feature and Local
Binary Phase Histogram (LBPH) algorithm for face detection and recognition, utilizing various image
processing techniques such as resizing, cropping, and grayscale conversion. The images of students were
captured through a video stream from a web-camera. The system performance was checked by using
several student face images. The results showed that the attendance system achieved better high accuracy
and can accurately mark the attendance of students. By automating the attendance marking process and
providing real-time attendance data, this project revolutionizes the traditional approach to attendance
marking.
ACTIVE NOISE CONTROL SYSTEM

2021 August –2021 December: Undergraduate Research Project, 3rd Year
The project 'Active Noise Control system' is implemented to reduce noise from noisy signals. this was done
by MATLAB software. This system filters the noise from a mic input signal and gives a clear output. An LMS
(Least Mean Square) adaptive filter was used here. This Project was also developed under real-time
conditions.
This is a third-year Telecommunication Group Project of BSc. Electronic and Telecommunication
Engineering program [UGC approved] conducted by CINEC Campus.
AUTOMATIC NIGHT LAMP WITH VISITOR COUNTER

2021 February –2021 July: Undergraduate Research Project, 3rd Year
The project 'Automatic Night Lamp with Visitor Counter' is an implementation to switch ON a room bulb
at night time [dark time] automatically when people or person present inside the room. Automatic night
lamps are common with LDRs, here with the use of a visitor counter we could know the people counter but
rather than that through its implementation we were able to apply the power-saving concept by switching
off the room bulb in the dark times when people do not present inside.
This is a third year Electronic Group Project of BSc. Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering program
[UGC approved] conducted by CINEC Campus.
