Final Performance Task in General Physics 2

The document presents a design for a nature-inspired wind turbine called a "Power Flower Tree". The tree is 10 meters tall and has 21 orange flower-shaped wind turbines that can generate up to 13.28 kilowatts of energy. The small, silent turbines can operate at wind speeds as low as 5.5 mph and generate enough energy to power a small office or half of an average Filipino household annually. The design aims to provide renewable energy in an aesthetically pleasing way that is safer for wildlife compared to traditional large wind turbines.

GRASPS

The goal is to create a new conceptual wind energy or wind turbine design
GOAL
inspired by nature that will serve as a template for all future wind energy
infrastructure.

ROLE A future development in science and technology.

The Mayor, The Governor, and some other Designers

AUDIENCE
and Engineers.

The mayor of our municipality has recommended that I create a new conceptual
SITUATION
wind energy or wind turbine design inspired by nature, which will be used as a
template for all soon-to-be built wind energy infrastructure. This design ensures
that it will be able to generate electricity. The generated and stored electricity can
power my own neighborhood or any point in the Philippines, with the end goal of
benefiting all stakeholders.

PRODUCT Nature-inspired wind turbine design.

 The design is unique and originally made.

STANDARD  The presentation explains very well how the design will ensures that
sounds will be minimize.
 Uses the modern technology in creating the design, showing the
clear picture of a new design

INTRODUCTION

In the Philippines, wind power provides for a modest percentage of total energy
production. The country's wind energy sector has considerable potential, with the capacity to
generate up to 76GW of electricity. The Bangui Wind Farm, Burgos Wind Farm, and
Caparispisan Wind Farm in Ilocos Norte, the Wind Energy Power System in Oriental Mindoro,
San Lorenzo Wind Farm in Guimaras, Nabas Wind Farm in Aklan, and Pililla Wind Farm in
Rizal are some of the most recent developments.

OBJECTIVES

 To inform people on the importance of renewable energy sources such as wind energy.
 It encourages sustainable living in urban environments with its quiet, aesthetically
pleasing product.

FEATURES

This is the tree, which is made of pure iron and is painted brown.
It stands 10 meters tall and 8 meters wide. The flower turbines will
be positioned similarly to how leaves in trees are. The trees have
plastic flower which silently turn in the breeze, no matter which way
it blows.

The orange flower wind turbine is classified as a micro

wind turbine. It operates at speeds of up to 5.5 miles per
hour (mph), regardless of wind direction. Since they are
also silent, they could theoretically be installed along
buildings, streets, or even in people's backyards.

OPERATION

The trees are 10 meters tall and 8 meters wide, with 21 orange flower-turbines that can
capture up to 13.28 kilowatts of energy at a time and produce 4,847.2 kWh per year. The trees
could meet half of the average Filipino household's annual energy requirements or power a
small, low-energy office. The wind system has a significant advantage over solar power in terms
of space. A 13.28 kW solar array would require approximately 64 square meters of roof space,
but the curved branches of a wind tree could be attached to any balcony or rooftop.

The small flowers turbines with a magnet assembly's horizontal axis design allowed them
to start generating energy at a low wind speed threshold of 5.5 mph without making any
distracting noise, making them ideal for urban settings. When compared to larger wind turbines
that generate significantly more power, the Wind Tree requires significantly less wind to begin
generating electricity and is subject to significantly less variability. Because of their small size
and lack of noise, they can be mounted almost anywhere. In addition, when compared to turbines
that rely on large wind blades, the Wind Tree is much safer for wildlife.

RECOMMENDATION

 Each village/subdivision should have enough Flowered Tree Turbines to generate enough
electricity to power the entire village/subdivision.
 2 house, 1 Flowered-Tree Turbines.
 Place it in large areas.
 Put on no nearby tree.
