INTRODUCTION
Every country certainly has a state basis where the state basis is used as an attitude of life,
outlook on life and a legal system in a country. Without a foundation and goals, a country will
not achieve progress and prosperity. According to the book Understanding State Ideology by
D.C. Tyas (2020), the basis of the state functions as a guideline in national and state life as well
as a source of national law and is also needed as the basis for the founding of the state, as a
unifier for all the people of the country.
The basis of the Indonesian state is Pancasila, which consists of five rules that explain the
purpose of establishing the Indonesian state. As the basis of the state, Pancasila contains five
very important guidelines for the Indonesian people in national and state life. Therefore, all
Indonesian citizens must understand and practice the meaning of every command in Pancasila.
In essence, the foundation of the Indonesian state is Pancasila, supplemented by the 1945
Constitution. The foundation of the Indonesian state is based on a strong belief in the welfare
and progress of the nation's life. Pancasila is the basic philosophy or philosophy of the
Indonesian nation. Furthermore, Pancasila can also be called the identity of the Indonesian
nation which is symbolized by the symbol of the Garuda bird.
In the current millennial era, many young people are found who still forget when asked
about the foundations of the state. The current young generation should realize that they are
currently the hope of the nation who are relied upon to build backwardness. As the next
generation of the nation, today's young people must have a strategic position and position
because they will determine the progress and decline of the flow of a nation.
Teenagers' knowledge about the basics of the country continues to decline with each
generation. This will certainly have a bad influence on the nation in the future. Currently, it is

necessary to re-cultivate teenagers as the younger generation to get to know the basics of the
country
In the current era, it cannot be denied that social media, which provides a lot of access to
various activities, is actually used by teenagers to spread hatred with comments that are
inappropriate and do not reflect themselves as the nation's future youth, as well as violating the
values of Pancasila as a guide to life in Indonesia. The existing differences are actually made
by teenagers as distinctions that are no longer transparent but real, resulting in intolerant
comments.
Viewed from the perspective of maintaining and fighting for the modern era, the millennial
generation is strong only through education and learning, namely by having basic state
education as proof and an obligation to defend and fight for existing values, not only making
the basis of the state knowledge which must be memorized but interpreted, felt and
implemented in every daily activity. In reality, in applying the country's basic values in life,
many do not apply them, so many of them have been mixed with western culture so that their
social spirit has faded and they are only concerned with social media.
With the existence of basic state education, this means that the younger generation is not
uprooted from their own cultural roots and so that they have guidelines or guiding principles
in thinking and acting in everyday life based on the meaning and basic values of the state.
State basic education is expected to be a guide to life for humans, whether in society, state
or nation. So that behavior and socializing between fellow humans, both in social, national and
state life, must be based on Pancasila which is used as the basis for behavior.
Pancasila is also used as a guideline for various things in life, whether related to social,
cultural, economic and other things. So that everything that is done is expected not to deviate
or be in accordance with the rules that have been established in accordance with Pancasila.
The younger generation lacks the value of awareness, therefore many act not in accordance
with the principles of Pancasila. To overcome this, there is a need for Pancasila education so
that the young generation in the current era is able to filter out foreign culture that is not in
accordance with Pancasila rules.

METHOD
The research method used is a research method with a descriptive or qualitative approach.
The descriptive or qualitative approach method is a research method that uses searches in order
to understand and explore things that have been read and can be included in a scientific work.
This research was carried out to test a theory and produce a theory. This research refers to the
definition, concept, meaning and explanation of a theory. Researchers use this method, namely
by looking for theoretical sources that will be analyzed and then conclusions can be drawn.
This research was obtained from sources based on journals, book references and scientific
articles.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

1. Science and Technology Development Factors
The Industrial Revolution Era 4.0 cannot be denied that over the last few years it has
provided many benefits and helped human life, both in terms of quality and time efficiency.

Research Title

The era referred to as the industrial revolution 4.0 is a continuation of the industrial
revolution 3.0, this era is also referred to as the era of automation and interconnectivity.
Apart from providing assistance in human life, especially the millennial generation in
the Wolomarang sub-district, they cannot be separated from the products of the Industrial
Revolution 4.0, namely the internet, social media, and so on. The millennial generation,
who are familiar with various technologies today, often encounter various problems and
challenges in facing the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The problem is that the current
millennial generation is less able to solve complex social problems, the millennial
generation lacks critical thinking in facing the problems and challenges of the Industrial
Revolution 4.0, and also the millennial generation in the Wolomarag sub-district is less
creative and only as consumers and users of Industrial Revolution products, not as
developer. A problem that is no less important in the millennial generation is the damage
to mental health and attitudes, both national character and nationalist attitudes of the
millennial generation in Indonesia.
The challenges that the millennial generation must face in maintaining national attitudes
and character are the many foreign cultures that can be easily accessed by the millennial
generation, because one of the impacts of the industrial revolution 4.0 is the easy access to
various information on the internet. Where on the internet there are lots of negative things
that can damage the attitudes and characteristics of the millennial generation, as well as the
millennial generation's love for their nation. The fading of nationalism in the millennial
generation can be seen from what is currently viral or booming in society, especially the
younger generation, this is in the form of the Korean Wave, the Korean wave in the form
of Korean culture whose existence tends to be accepted by the public in everyday life and
is very popular with millennials. Over time, the millennial generation has implemented
Korean culture in their daily lives, starting from fashion, food, speaking style, to language.
It is feared that this will affect the feeling of nationalism towards local culture. Therefore,
the challenge that millennials currently have to face is how to place foreign culture so that
they don't forget their culture and love for their own nation.
The digital era now demands changes in times and human lifestyles. Including the
millennial generation, especially in the Wolomarang sub-district which is very close to
gadgets. Most of the younger generation are very active in social media. It cannot be denied
that social media plays a big role as a source of public information in Indonesia. The

the challenge that millennials currently have to face is how to place foreign culture so that

The digital era now demands changes in times and human lifestyles. Including the
millennial generation, especially in the Wolomarang sub-district which is very close to
gadgets. Most of the younger generation are very active in social media. It cannot be denied
that social media plays a big role as a source of public information in Indonesia.
However, there are many young people who still abuse social media. There are many
cases of bullying, hoax news and disputes in cyberspace which have a negative impact on
other social media users. Such behavior does not really reflect the Indonesian people who
have the basis of the State, namely Pancasila. Pancasila as the basis of the state contains
the culture and ways of behaving typical of Indonesian people that have existed for a long
time. The negative impacts that arise can be reduced if the current generation has been
instilled and given a foundation regarding the values of Pancasila from childhood.
Pancasila is the basic ideology in life for the Indonesian State which is the result of the
deepest thoughts of the Indonesian people, which is seen as a reality and life values that are
the wisest or most appropriate for the Indonesian nation and State which are found from
within the realm of thought, the realm of culture. and own historical experience. Ideas that
have been put forward by several figures are then combined into one, namely Pancasila.
Each point of Pancasila contains very important points so that if it is implemented with the
adjustment pattern that has been made in Pancasila, it will definitely be implemented well
and Indonesia will now develop even more.
2. Weak Factor In Character Education
However, it is not only social media that influences the lack of knowledge about the
basics of the state, but the role of education should also be used as a reference in the process
of introducing the basics of the state itself.
After observing and interviewing. one of the sources said that many students when given
material about the basics of the state, they were reluctant to re-read the material that had
been given and the students' lack of memory related to the basics of the state resulted in its
application not being in accordance with the values contained, which caused students to be
disorganized. .
The lessons that have been taught by educators in every school regarding Pancasila are
numerous and very clear. But the problem is with the person being educated, namely the
young people of the millennial generation. As we also know, gadgets are rampant among
young people today. So that the entry of technology into Indonesia that is not properly
filtered can have a negative impact on the Indonesian nation itself.
As an example, let's take the 2nd principle, where just and civilized humanity is used as
a mission to shape human character to be more good morally. Meanwhile, in reality, many
young people today have bad morals because of these gadgets.
Character building among our young generation. Character formation must start from
an early age starting from the family environment, community, school to college. This
character formation must be able to answer the needs of the younger generation. Including
counteracting the nature of pragmatism that has spread among today's young generation.
For this reason, in the future, Pancasila education must become mandatory education from
elementary school to university level. Through Pancasila education, it is hoped that we will

be able to shape the character of our young generation so that they can become a generation
that is politically independent, economically self-sufficient, and has a cultural personality.
3. Lack of Curiosity
There are several factors that influence students' low learning motivation in state
education, both internal and external factors. The internal factor is first, there is no
willingness on the part of the students themselves to learn without having to be coerced by
other parties. Second, lack of supervision of students. Third, students' perceptions of
teachers who ask students to summarize lesson material.
Meanwhile, the external factors are first, the use of learning methods and media used by
teachers is not appropriate. Second, the teacher's appearance is less attractive. Third, the
class atmosphere is uncomfortable and classmates are less united. Fourth, the teacher's low
mastery of subject matter. And fifth, teachers who cannot use sophisticated learning media.
After conducting research in the field, one of the sources said that many young people
had very little knowledge about the basics of the country because they were too lazy to
read. Globalization factors cause electronic media to be used more often to access social
media.
The solution that needs to be done by teachers, especially teachers of Pancasila and
Citizenship Education subjects, is that teachers are expected to be able to prepare
themselves by reading from various literature or teaching material sources that are relevant
to the learning material, teachers can use actual issues to encourage students to develop
analytical skills. and evaluative by taking case examples from the current situation, to gain
a more comprehensive understanding teachers can display photos, drawings and
audiovisual documentation (films) that are relevant to the subject matter, teachers must
provide motivation and actively encourage students (active learning) to find sources and
concrete examples from the surrounding environment, teachers must create learning
situations that allow students to observe and reflect.

CONCLUSION
In this research it can be concluded that Pancasila is a state ideology which has an
important position and function or role for the survival of the Indonesian nation. Pancasila also
contains the ideals, goals and hopes of the Indonesian nation. Pancasila is the five basic noble
values that have developed since Indonesian independence until now. Pancasila consists of the
words panca which means five and sila which means basic, so Pancasila is the five basic views
of life of the nation. In Pancasila there are values that are closely related to the Indonesian
nation, such as the values of divinity, humanity, unity, democracy and justice. The values
contained in Pancasila are based on the religious values, customs and culture that apply in
Indonesia. In each principle of Pancasila there are various meanings and hopes from the
founding fathers of the nation for the next generation. Pancasila itself is located and written in
the opening of the 1945 Constitution, paragraph 4 which explains that Pancasila is the ideology
of the Indonesian nation. The values of Pancasila need to be implemented to maintain the
existence of the Indonesian nation. There are many efforts that can be made to encourage the
implementation of Pancasila values in order to maintain the unity and unity that exists in
Indonesia.
