Basic Workflow

Main Alphas
The naming of the main alphas follows this pattern:

lipsXX_upper/lower_Mid/L/R.tif

• XX is a number. All alphas with the same number belong to a set. (Each set is based on real
lips so detailing the whole lip with the same alpha-set will produce natural-looking results )
• upper/lower: alphas named “_upper_” are meant to be used on the upper lip. “_lower_” are
meant for the lower lip.
• Mid/L/R: lips are curved so they are hard to cover with a single alpha. Each alpha-set is
therefore split into Mid, L or R. Mid covers the center portion of the lip. LtR cover the lef
and right corners respectively.
Transition/In-between Alphas
This alpha package includes several “transition” or “in-between” alphas. Their main purpose is to
fll gaps lef afer applying the main alphas. Transition alphas are named:

lipsXX_upper/lower_tr1/2/3.tif

• XX: as with the main alphas this number means the alpha belongs to a specifc set. Use the
same set for predictable results.
• uppertlower: upper or lower lip
• tr1t2t3: there are a few variations of each “transition alpha”, just in case.
The above is just general recommendations.
You can also use several “transition alphas” to gradually cover the whole lip and create unique
variations.
Using one alpha-set on the upper lip and another on the lower will certainly be alright in most
cases.
Some “upper” alphas may work well on the lower lip and vice versa.
Etc. :)
