Before disconnecting refrigerant lines, make sure that refrigerant circuit is without pressure.
Observe the safety regulations for handling refrigerant (refer to Section 90, Group 15).
IMPORTANT:
The air-conditioning systems used in John Deere tractors operate on R134a refrigerant (tetrafluorethane).
The refrigerant must never be discharged straight into the air. It must be trapped in a recycling unit.
Refrigerant stored in a recycling unit may be processed at any time.
Make sure that the recycling unit used to do this is of a type suitable for handling R134a refrigerant.
NOTE:
On later tractors which are equipped with long refrigerant lines, the compressor and condenser can be
removed without disconnecting the refrigerant lines.
Remove refrigerant, see Service Unit Operator's Manual or Section 90, Group 15.

LX002432-UN: Damper
Install driveline for front equipment (if equipped).
Install damper (A). Tighten the axial screws first, and then the radial ones. Tightening torque on all damper screws is 140
N·m (105 lb-ft).
When tightening the screws, make sure that the aluminium bushings in the rubber component do not turn as well. For this
reason, coat the underside of the screw heads with a little grease. Make sure the rubber component is not displaced.
The screws have their own adhesive, which takes about 5 hours to set hard. Under no circumstances operate the tractor
until the adhesive has set!
Insert drive shaft (B) and tighten the tensioner (C) evenly to 25 N·m (18 lb-ft).

Engine Components [LX012283]
NOTE:
1. Move gear shift lever or reverse drive lever out of neutral position to prevent engine from starting.
2. Turn ignition key fully to the right (start position) for approx. 20 seconds to operate fuel transfer pump.
Escaping fuel under pressure can have sufficient force to penetrate the skin causing serious
personal injury. If injured by escaping fuel see a doctor immediately as otherwise serious
infections may be the result.
3. Start engine until fuel flows free from bubbles out of loosened fuel nozzle connections.
4. Retighten connections.
For refilling coolant into air conditioning system, refer to Section 90, Group 15. (Do this only if the system has been
discharged).
IMPORTANT:
Before the air conditioning system is re-filled, always replace the receiver/drier and change the refrigerant

On most tractors, the air-conditioning compressor and condenser can be removed without first
disconnecting the lines. See the relevant procedure described for 6100-6400 tractors in this Group.
