Effectivity: All PRS-8 and PRS-8ER Models Manufactured Before May 2019

2019
All PRS-5 Manufactured Between January 2006 and May 2019

Affected Assemblies: Siemens Master Drives VFD Line Up Assembly for PRS
(Various Part Numbers)

Objective
To inform customers that Siemens has discontinued the manufacturing of Siemens MasterDrives and to
provide suggestions regarding what to order if spare parts are required.

Issue
Siemens has discontinued production of MasterDrive VFD Line Ups (6SE70, 6SE71, 6SY7, 6SX7, etc.), and
components are no longer available.

Solution
NOV can continue to provide Siemens MasterDrive spares based on availability. NOV also has kits that
can be used to convert a VFD Line Up from MasterDrive components to Siemens S120 Components. In
addition, NOV has available kits for conversion to ABB ACS880 Components, which will be the standard
for future PRS equipment deliveries. These kits will retrofit an entire Line Up and cannot be used to
replace individual components. Retrofitting a VFD Line Up can only be done through NOV.
