INT. POLICE STATION - INTERRIGATION ROOM - NIGHT
P.C SHARPE
“What, nothing to say? Your best friend is dead because
of you.”
NATHAN REED
“I didn’t hurt Cain!” (HE CUTS OFF SHARPE WITH AN ANGRY
TONE)
P.C SHARPE
(CHUCKLES HUMOURLESSLY) “Really? So, who killed him? Or
that other officer we found? You were the only one there.”
NATHAN REED
(TAKES A DEEP BREATH AND SPEAKS MORE CALMLY BUT
HESITANTLY)
“It was a ghost.”
The two go quiet, the only thing being heard was the ticking
of the clock before P.C SHARPE starts laughing at NATHAN.
P.C SHARPE
“A ghost? That’s the best you can come up with?”
NATHAN REED
“I know I sound like a nutcase but it’s true!”
P.C SHARPE
(TAKES A DEEP BREATH AND TRIES TO LEVEL HIS BREATHING)
“Okay fine. You tell me what went on, then I will decide
if you’re lying or not.”
NATHAN REED
(AFTER A COUPLE OF SECONDS) “Okay, Fine.”
P.C SHARPE
“Good. Let’s start from the beginning.”
The chair creaks a little from the officer leaning back in the
chair, waiting to hear what NATHAN has to say.
SOUND: (FADE IN) THUNDER AND RAIN THROUGH A CAR ROOF, THE
SOUND OF WINDSCREEN WIPERS GOING OFF AND THE CAR DOOR OPENING
AND CLOSING (FADING OUT THE RAIN AND THUNDER WHEN CHARACTERS
TALK)
NATHAN (V.O.)
“Cain wanted to explore an abandoned asylum to help gain
viewers on his YouTube channel…”
CAIN: Nah ghosts aren’t real. Why do you think we’re faking
it?
CAIN gets back out the car and the sound of rain becomes heavy
again before the door slams shut behind him.
SOUND: (FADE OUT) RAIN THROUGH THE CAR ROOF WHEN THE CAR DOOR
SHUTS AGAIN, TO LISTEN TO THE SOUND OF A CLOCK AGAIN.
NATHAN REED
“I didn’t. But the building creeped me out. There has to
be a reason no one would go in there.
P.C SHARPE
(SIGHING QUIETLY) “Maybe they didn’t want to get arrested
for being on private property.”
NATHAN REED
(SCOFFS) “Come on, people don’t care about that- I mean,
it’s not as bad as getting possibly murdered.”
P.C SHARPE
“Mhm” (SOUNDING UNCONVINECD)
NATHAN REED
(CLEARS HIS THROAT) “Anyway…
P.C SHARPE
“Just get on with your story.”
P.C SHARPE
“PAY ATTENTION!”
NATHAN REED
“Sorry. But you have to believe me… this was real.”
P.C SHARPE
“Just keep talking, I’ll decide what’s real or not.”
NATHAN REED
(SIGHS) “Cain suggested breaking up to set these trap
wires everywhere. So, if we tripped them, it would make a
noise or drop something to make it seem haunted.”
P.C SHARPE
“So, it is possible there was a trap gone wrong.”
NATHAN REED
“No. I am telling you there is something not right in
there.”
P.C SHARPE
“Then what happened?”
NATHAN REED
“The door was still stuck, I felt something watching me.
I just remember feeling… cold all of a sudden. I remember
turning around and seeing this woman in the room, she didn’t
look real, but she also did.”
P.C SHARPE
(WRITING CAN BE HEARD FROM TAKING NOTES) “What exactly
did she look like?”
NATHAN REED
(SIGHS) “She looked see through. She wore a white dress
or uh a hospital gown on. It looked like she had an IV in her
arm and that pole they’re attached to next to her.”
P.C SHARPE
“Then what happened?”
SOUND: (FADE IN) NATHAN TRIES TO ASK WHO THE LADY IS BUT SHE
COMES AND ATTACKS HIM, BUT RUNS RIGHT THROUGH HIM. BOTH
SCREAMING UNTIL SHE DISAPPEARS. NATHAN TAKES A DEEP BREATH AS
THE DOOR SLAMS BACK OPEN AND MAKES HIM JUMP.
NATHAN REED (V.O)
“She disappeared. Like she was never there.”
SOUND: (FADE OUT) THE SAME CLICKING OF A CLOCK AND THE HEAVY
BREATHING OF THE INTERROGATING OFFICER.
P.C SHARPE
“So, she didn’t actually hurt you?”
NATHAN REED
“No. It wasn’t me she was after.”
