PRA Public Burden Statement: A federal agency may not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not required to re-
spond to, nor shall a person be subject to a penalty for failure to comply with a collection of information subject to
the requirements of the Paperwork Reduction Act unless that collection of information displays a currently valid
OMB Control Number. The OMB Control Number for this information collection is 2120-0042. Public reporting for
this collection of information is estimated to be approximately 30 minutes per response, including the time for re-
viewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and maintaining the data needed, completing and
reviewing the collection of information. All responses to this collection of information are required to show evidence
of ownership to register an aircraft or hold an aircraft in trust in accordance with 14 CFR Part 47. Send comments
regarding this burden estimate or any other aspect of this collection of information, including suggestions for reduc-

PREPARATION:
Prepare this form in duplicate. Except for signatures, all data should be typewritten or printed.
Signatures must be in ink or digital signature. The name of the purchaser must be identical to the name
of the applicant shown on the Aircraft Registration Application, AC Form 8050-1.
When a trade name is shown as the purchaser or seller, the name of the individual owner or co-owners
must be shown along with the trade name.
If the aircraft was not purchased from the last registered owner, conveyances must be submitted
completing the chain of ownership from the last registered owner, through all intervening owners, to the
applicant.

Authority: The authority for collecting the information is Title 49 U.S.C. 44107 and 14
CFR. 47.31 which requires the registration of each United States civil aircraft as a prerequi-
site to its operation. An aircraft is eligible for registration only: (1) if it is not registered un-
der the laws of any foreign country; and (2) if it is owned by (a) a citizen of the United
States; (b) an individual citizen of a foreign country who has lawfully been admitted for per-
manent residence in the United States; or (c) a corporation lawfully recognized and doing
business under the laws of the United States or any State thereof so long as such aircraft is
based and primarily used in the United States; or (d) a government unit. Operation of an air-
craft that is not registered may subject the operator to a civil penalty.
Purpose: The principal purpose for collecting the information is identify the aircraft being
purchased, the purchaser and seller.
Routine Uses: The information collected will be included in the System of Records Notice
(SORN) DOT/FAA 801, Aviation Registration System, 88 FR 53951 - August 9, 2023 and
will be subject to the published routine uses, including:

Disclosure: Submission of the information is mandatory unless the owner can provide an
equivalent bill of sale or other evidence of ownership authorized by 14 CFR 47.11; an incom-
plete submission may prevent or delay issuance of your registration certificate.
