All responses to this collection of information are required to show evidence of ownership to register an aircraft or hold an aircraft in trust in accordance with 14 CFR Part 47. AIRCRAFT BILL OF SALE INFORMATION
PREPARATION: Prepare this form in duplicate. Except for signatures, all data should be typewritten or printed. Signatures must be in ink or digital signature. The name of the purchaser must be identical to the name of the applicant shown on the Aircraft Registration Application, AC Form 8050-1. When a trade name is shown as the purchaser or seller, the name of the individual owner or co-owners must be shown along with the trade name. If the aircraft was not purchased from the last registered owner, conveyances must be submitted completing the chain of ownership from the last registered owner, through all intervening owners, to the applicant.
REGISTRATION AND RECORDING FEES:
The fee for issuing a certificate of aircraft registration is $5.00. An additional fee of $5.00 is required when a conditional sales contract is submitted in lieu of bill of sale as evidence of ownership along with the application for aircraft registration ($5.00 for the issuance of the certificate and $5.00 for recording the lien evidenced by the contract). The fee for recording a conveyance is $5.00 for each eligible piece of collateral listed thereon. (There is no fee for issuing a certificate of aircraft registration to a governmental unit or for recording a bill of sale that accompanies an application for aircraft registration and the proper registration fee.)

Privacy Act Statement (5 U.S.C. § 552a, as amended):
Authority: The authority for collecting the information is Title 49 U.S.C. 44107 and 14 CFR. 47.31 which requires the registration of each United States civil aircraft as a prerequi- site to its operation. An aircraft is eligible for registration only: (1) if it is not registered un- der the laws of any foreign country; and (2) if it is owned by (a) a citizen of the United States; (b) an individual citizen of a foreign country who has lawfully been admitted for per- manent residence in the United States; or (c) a corporation lawfully recognized and doing business under the laws of the United States or any State thereof so long as such aircraft is based and primarily used in the United States; or (d) a government unit. Operation of an air- craft that is not registered may subject the operator to a civil penalty.
Purpose: The principal purpose for collecting the information is identify the aircraft being purchased, the purchaser and seller.
Routine Uses: The information collected will be included in the System of Records Notice (SORN) DOT/FAA 801, Aviation Registration System, 88 FR 53951 - August 9, 2023 and will be subject to the published routine uses, including:
• To the public (including government entities, title companies, financial institutions,
international organizations, and others), when permitted, information, including air- craft owner’s name, address, United States Registration Number, aircraft type, legal documents related to title or financing of an aircraft and ADB–S summary reports, in order to facilitate aviation safety, security, and commerce. Emails and telephone numbers of small unmanned aircraft system (sUAS) owners registered under 14 CFR part 48 will not be disclosed to the Public pursuant to this Routine Use. • To law enforcement, when necessary and relevant to an FAA enforcement activity. • To government agencies, whether Federal, State, Tribal, local or foreign, infor- mation necessary or relevant to an investigation of a violation or potential violation of law, whether civil, criminal, or regulatory, that the agency is charged with inves- tigating or enforcing; as well as, to government agencies, whether Federal, State, or local responsible for threat detection in connection with critical infrastructure pro- tection.
The Department has also published 15 additional routine uses applicable to all DOT Privacy Act system of records. These routine uses are published in the Federal Register at 75 FR 82132 - December 29, 2010, 77 FR 42796 - July 20, 2012, and 84 FR 55222 - October 15, 2019, under “DOT General Routine Uses” (available at http://www.transportation.gov/pri- vacy/privacyactnotices).
