Piezometer
Types of piezometer
1)standpipe piezometer
2)pneumatic piezometer
3) hydraulic piezometer
Rise of liquid in the glass tube of Piezometer will provide us the pressure head
at point A and could be written as mentioned here. Rise of liquid in the glass
tube of Piezomter will also be termed as Piezomteric head
Gauge pressure at point A = ρ x g x h
Where,
ρ = Density of liquid
g = Acceleration due to gravity
h = Rise of liquid in Piezometer glass tube
Limitation of Piezometer:
Application of Piezometer
A Piezometer is an instrument used to measure the pressure of groundwater,
in dams, pipes, and other conduits, allowing its properties to be monitored and
controlled when faced with an excavation, borehole, or drainage. It is an
essential tool to carry out this type of work with safety and precision.
Calculations
P1=SGxrwxh1 (SG=1,H1=0.18)
1 x 9.81 x 0.18
1.7658
P3=SGx rw x h3 (SG=1,H3=0.33)
P = 1 x 9.81 x 0.33
P = 3.2373 KN/m²
Conclusion: After following the actual procedure and following the method of
determining pressure by piezometer meter we have found that pressure at taps
are 1.7658KN/m2, 4.2183KN/m2, 3.2373KN/m2. And the fluid flowing from the
tap is water having specific gravity 1.
