Prerequisite: Knowledge of preparing slides by using power point presentations, Capable of searching for suitable literature
and Presentation skills.

Course Objectives:
This course aims to:
1. The student takes up investigative study in the broad field of Engineering / Technology, either fully
theoretical/practical or involving both theoretical and practical.
2. The work to be assigned by the Department on an individual basis or two/three students in a group, under the
guidance of a supervisor.
3. This is expected to provide a good initiation for the student(s) towards R&D.
Course Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. List the various approaches to the selected problem.
2. Interpret the advantages and disadvantages of various approaches.
3. Apply the selected approach for simulating / modelling / designing the problem.
4. Analyse and write a report on the results of the simulation / modelling of the problem selected.
5. Justify and present the results of the simulation / model / design before the departmental committee.

The objective of Project Part-1 is to enable the student take up investigative study in the broad field of
Engineering/Technology, either fully theoretical/practical or involving both theoretical and practical work to be assigned by
the Department on an individual basis or two/three students in a group, under the guidance of a supervisor. This is expected
to provide a good initiation for the student(s) towards R&D. The work shall include:

1. Survey and study of published literature on the assigned topic;


2. Working out a preliminary Approach to the Problem relating to the assigned topic;
3. Conducting preliminary Analysis/Modelling/Simulation/Experiment/Design/Feasibility;
4. Preparing a Written Report on the Study conducted for Presentation to the Department;
5. Final Seminar, as oral Presentation before a departmental Committee.
