COURSE INFORMATION
1. Course Number : GE 4
2. Course Name : MATHEMATICS IN THE MODERN WORLD
3. Course Description : This course deals with the nature of mathematics, appreciation of its practical,
intellectual, and aesthetic dimensions, and application of mathematical tools in daily life. This
course is in compliance with CHED CMO No. 20, series of 2013.
Likewise, it is structured in accordance with the esteemed standards outlined in the
Philippine Qualifications Framework (PQF) Level 6/ASEAN Qualifications Reference
Framework (AQRF), ensuring its alignment with international standards.
4. Pre-requisite : None
5. Co-requisite : None
6. Credit : 3.0 units Lecture
7. Class Schedule : 6 hours per week (one term)

2. Base-15 grading policy should be observed. Students who obtained failing scores in major examinations are
