This job aid is a supplement to How to Upgrade a
4007ES Panel, available on www.Simplex-fire.com.
IMPORTANT: The annunciator and panel software versions are not required to match.
You may install the Color Touchscreen LCD Annunciator if the Simplex 4007ES panel is at Rev. 3.02.07 or higher.
The Fire Alarm System Job-specific files (i.e. CFIG) are automatically updated on the annunciator.
INSTRUCTIONS:
In order to install the annunciator, the 4007ES Fire Alarm Panel system software must be at Rev. 3.02.07 or higher.
If upgrade is required, the How to Upgrade a 4007ES Panel job aid shows how to determine current panel software
versions and upgrade the panel software.
Prepare to install the annunciator by following instructions in the 4007ES Color Touch Screen Annunciator
Installation Manual (579-1172). Connect all ground, power and communication wiring, and set the address.
Prior to mounting, you may verify the
version of the annunciator by tapping
the screen to open the Main Menu.
Note: The annunciator revision and
the panel revision are not required
to match. The 4007ES panel must
be at Rev. 3.02.07 or higher.
Tap System Info.
The System Info menu opens.
Tap System Files Info.
Note the versions of the following:
BOOTLOADER, KERNEL,
FILESYSTEM, and REMOTEUI
Keep in mind: The BOOTLOADER, KERNEL, and FILESYSTEM annunciator system software files can
ONLY be upgraded via USB memory stick. UPDATES TO THESE FILES ARE RARELY REQUIRED.
The REMOTEUI file may be upgraded via USB memory stick OR from the Main Panel via RUI.
Updating the REMOTEUI via USB takes about 1 minute, and through RUI it takes approximately 20 minutes.
During the update the annunciator is disabled.
Note: Job-specific files (i.e. CFIG) are automatically updated on the annunciator.
Follow the instructions in the How to Upgrade a 4007ES Panel job aid to download the current program to a USB memory stick.
After downloading the software
files to the USB memory stick,
insert it into the USB port on the
back of the annunciator.
The annunciator display indicates the USB
has been detected and automatically
searches for the appropriate files.
Select the file(s) that need to be upgraded.
Follow the screen prompts to complete the upgrade.
When upgrade is complete, eject the USB memory
stick and follow the Installation Manual (579-1172)
instructions to mount the annunciator.
