This course is designed to enrich the students’ experiences in developing and
utilizing appropriate technology to facilitate learning through microteaching. It
shall also provide exposure and hands on opportunities in the use of instructional
or communication technology in tutorial, remedial, and enhancement teaching.
Tutorial teaching focuses on the application of appropriate tutoring skills like
explaining, demonstrating, providing feedback and checking understanding.
Remedial teaching starts from the difficulties of the learners where interpretation,
explanation and demonstration of relevant points are done. Enhancement teaching
is a practical strategy of augmenting a lesson incorporated in microteaching.
Microteaching is the application of being a child-friendly teacher. This includes
addressing student-diversity through gender-sensitivity, inclusiveness, and non-
discriminating traits by the pre-service teacher.

Course Objectives

At the end of the course, the pre-service teacher is expected to:

1. Have applied the principles of teaching in tutorial, remedial and

enhancement activities.
2. Have used appropriate technology by selecting and preparing the
teaching materials that best suit the needs of the learners.
3. Have developed and utilized instructional materials appropriate to a
chosen lesson in Micro-teaching.
4. Have made reflections in their journal writings indicating realizations and
insights related to the microteaching experiences and their use of
technology in it.

ANALYSIS

1. Were the learning resources/materials arranged properly according to their

functions and characteristics?
Answer:

At Bacong Central School all learning resources or materials were

arranged properly according to their functions and characteristics. The
books inside the classroom were properly arranged as to their types and
functions. The proper arrangement of learning resources material help the
teachers and students to locate it and it brings convenience to both
teachers and students.

2. Do the guidelines and procedures facilitate easy access to the materials by

the teachers? Why? Why not?
Answer:

Yes, the guidelines and procedures were posted and labeled properly and
can easily access the materials in the classroom.

3. What are the strengths of this Learning Resource Center?

Answer:

At Bacong Central School, every classroom has a learning resource area.

This learning resource area can be developed and benefitted to educate all
students and provide quality education. It will become strong when the
person in-charge knows how to efficiently utilize it and the resources must
be sufficient and must be contemporary that will suit to the latest trends
in the society.

4. What are its weaknesses?

Answer:

A learning resource area was only good as the resources they have and
the person running it, so if a learning resource area has insufficient or
outdated resources it will be weak. If they have current resources but no
one knows how to efficiently utilize them so it will be also weak.

5. What suggestions can you make?

Answer:

Based on my observation, the school has individual learning resource area

in every classroom, but not an overall learning resource center or library.
If possible the school must have an overall learning resource center.

REFLECTIONS

1. Which of the materials in the learning resources caught your interest the
most? Why?

Answer:

Among the materials in the learning resource area in Kindergarten, the

portfolio of LMs (Learning Materials) really caught my interest because
they were properly arranged according to their types/functions and by
weeks. It seems that there was a proper maintenance because most of
the tablet content were free from dust and covered by plastic.

2. Which gadgets/materials are you already confident to use/operate?

Answer:

Among the gadgets that I am confident to use are the multimedia (TV and
DVD) and mobile phone, as well as the 2 dimensional materials
(Flashcards, Flannel board, etc.)

3. Which ones do you feel you need to learn about?

Answer:

I need to learn more about the use of computers in presenting topics. It is

important for me to be familiar and understand clearly its
appropriateness and effectiveness in delivering a topic.

4. Read an article about your answer in number 3. Paste a copy of the article

How to Make a Presentation on a Computer: Effective Guide

In our work or study, we often need a presentation to make a report, prepare a speech,
present a task as completed, even to present ourselves favorably for a CV or portfolio. If you
struggle with creating presentations or want to clarify or delve into some aspect of the
presentation making process, then our instruction article on how to make a presentation on
a computer will help to answer the main questions: What to start with? What a presentation
must include? What software may be used? Where to find inspiration, cool examples and
lifehacks?
5
Getting prepared: What to consider?

We have collected the best tips in our detailed guide on how to make a presentations more
professionally so that they achieve their goals. But what do you need to consider at the very
beginning?
Before opening your presentation program and adding a new slide, it’s important to answer
questions that will define the composition, structure and style of your future presentation.
Let’s discuss them one by one.
1. What is your presentation for?
Here, elaborate for yourself on why you are creating the presentation, what its
purpose is, what you want to change by these words or slides. Perhaps, this is the
main question to ask in order to define your subsequent work.

2. Who is this presentation for?

A lot of depends on who will see your presentation, the presentation’s structural
logic, the arguments to be used and the graphic style. Before preparing the
presentation, define who you viewers will be and what they expect to see on your
slides.

3. How are you going to present?

You also need to realize what is going to happen with the presentation after you
finish the last slide: Will you distribute it by email and wait for a reply or will you
present in person? That influences the amount of text on slides, the design and your
preparation.

4. Are there host or client requirements for the presentation?

An important point that is often forgotten. Before making a presentation, inquire

what the required format is, if there are restrictions for slides or a fixed structure,
how long the presentation shall take, and other organizational issues. If you check
for it in advance, you will have time to comply and will be confident about your
material.

Basic components of a presentation

Having answered the questions above, you can proceed to the presentation preparation
itself. And if you have already clicked ‘New Slide’, please wait. Don’t hurry. We have cool
lifehacks for you to facilitate you further work. Let’s start with discussing the basic
components of any presentation.

Structure of a presentation

Nice presentations are not created spontaneously. Talks by TED speakers are a huge work
that is prepared and perfected long before they come on stage. The resulting simplicity,
irony and fascination of presentations by professionals of such level are achieved owing to
the perfected structure – the control of the listeners’ attention is exercised naturally and
consistently. So, what do you need to elaborate to be listened to with the same fascination?

6
1. Basic problem. What do you talk about in your presentation, i.e., what pain,
problem, statement? It is important to describe in a literally single sentence the
specific problem you’re going to talk about and call to solve, so that a person who
has attended or read your presentation would get solid understanding.
2. Plan of the presentation Now, compile a plan for your presentation – anything that
can be used as a framework for your argumentation and scenario, you may even us
the approach taught to us back in school at literature classes: exposition,
developments, climax, resolution. First, define the major sections, then elaborate on
your statements within each section. The beginning of your presentation is the entry
point for your story and problem, here you can have an introduction and describe
the subject briefly. The last slide is good for the speaker’s contact details, main idea,
acknowledgements or emotional conclusion.
3. Arguments. To have the audience dive into the problem and come to the decision,
idea or conclusion that you need, you have to carefully choose your arguments for
every item on your plan. Appropriate arguments would be facts from studies,
various projects, quotes, opinions by experts, case studies (as experienced by you or
other people involved). Visualized data would work well here, since it’s always easier
to comprehend — as well as speaker’s experience or stories that are relatable to
anyone. This helps put the audience in the particular context.

Lifehack 1: Barbara Minto Pyramid

The Minto pyramid principle is an argumentation system invented by Barbara Minto

from McKinsey. This system is based on a strict principle: We structure our points in
the form of a pyramid and move from the basic idea, issue or problem to arguments,
stating conclusions in the end of each group of arguments. This versatile approach
helps structure either compelling short meetings or full-featured addresses.

Lifehack 2: Put your plan on paper

Researches and empirical observations show that information on physical media is
easier comprehended and structured by our brain. This also matters when you think
of how to make a presentation more engaging. In the process of coming up with the
plan and arguments, it’s usually easier and more efficient to deal with paper: you
strike through, draw, arrange sheets in a different order and experiment —
electronic environment will not pressure you to promptly compose a slide layout
and perfect design, so the process will move faster.

Narrative
The preparation of the text for a presentation on business or studying issues depends on
your chosen purpose, as discussed above, and whether you are going to present in person or
the presentation is for reading only.
1. If your presentation is for reading only:

It is important here to have your ideas understood as accurately and correctly as

possible. Therefore, work on your arguments and information visualization –
diagrams, hyperlinks to supplemental materials, clearly structured text, fully
covering the presentation’s subject and problem — this is what a good presentation
for reading must have. Depending on the situation, such presentation may be built
from a report, your portfolio, or a completed task.
7
2. If you are to present in person:

You have 2 tools at your disposal: the text on your slides, and your speech. The basic
rule is that they shall differ and not duplicate each other. Otherwise, the audience
will not appreciate your work at all and will lose their focus at the 3 rd slide already.
The text in the presentation should better be shortened and in separate statements,
emphasizing only main points, while the conclusions and some details should be
spoken out. It is most convenient to prepare it when you already have at least draft
presentation – try to tell it in usual and simple words on a voice recorder. A couple
of such rehearsals will help to get rid of excessive words, phrases and terms that
would be challenging for you to articulate during your speech.

Visual design

The finishing touch for every presentation is its visual design. It is the design of slides that
helps us hold and control the viewers’ attention, and it’s also what may put off a person and
provoke mistrust. How to make a presentation look nice and sound? The points below will
help with that:

Colors

Choose several, like 2 or 3, harmonious colors. Typically, these are the background color, the
body text color and the color for accents in headers and graphics. You can pick cool
combinations with the help of some tool like Paletton.com, ColorPalettes. Example selection
of a three-color scheme for a presentation

Fonts

You shouldn’t overdo the fonts, too — better limit them to 1 or 2, one for body and one for
headers or accents. Pick fonts that are easy to read, like Century Gothic, Muller, Roboto,
Monserrat, Oswald. Even a single font might be enough, if it has various variations: Bold,
Italic, Regular, and their combinations. It can help emphasize your main points and form
easy-to-read text blocks.

Images

Cool pictures in your created presentation help convey the main idea without words, create
a bright visual image that will highlight your arguments. To find quality images, use stocks
(e.g., pexels.com, unsplash.com) or specialized services, like Popsters: if you authorize in
Flickr on it, you can search for the most popular images by key queries that suit you (make
sure to check the license to use).

Graphics

Data visualization is the power of a presentation. Anything that can be presented visually is
better to form into visual elements rather than text. To find cool templates and blanks for
diagrams and plots, also use specialized services and stocks, such as Freepik, flaticon.com.

8
How to make your presentation look pretty

The design and formatting of presentations, as we have already found out, are a complex
subject where a lot can be perceived subjectively. To avoid such an approach, assume that
design has to solve a certain problem, for example, to effectively and simply get your ideas
across to the listeners. The following principles may also help you throughout all the steps of
presentation creation:

1. Express yourself briefly and point by point

The clearer is your thought from a slide, the better. Try to remove excessive phrases
and words at all, read it out loud to check that no meaning is lost. And, of course,
add new slides, use bigger font sizes and, if necessary and the number of slides is
not limited by the requirements, you shouldn’t try to fit everything in one slide.

2. Don’t be afraid to use a template

If you have little time to prepare or you are not confident in your skills, take a
presentation template and focus on working out the structure and text. Thus, you
will get much more detailed and quality result. However, there’s always a chance
that your template was already used by someone, so, if possible, you should
customize it or work on the design by yourself.

3. Less is better

This principle is applicable to texts, images, fonts and colors in presentations. A

frequent mistake made by beginners when creating slides is to use all at once.
Remember that your best beginner’s kit to help create a really stylish presentation is
point-by-point narration, few same-style quality illustrations, 2 fonts and 2 to 3
colors at most.

Presentation services and software

Presentation preparation and formatting is quite a common task, which is often has to be
done in a wide variety of areas. A lot of services have been developed to facilitate this task,
so we are going to discuss the major ones below. They offer a convenient and simple way of
creating a presentation on your computer.

PowerPoint

This is, perhaps, the best-known presentation software, from the Microsoft Office suit.
Therefore, it is quite natural to have a desire to know the features of how to make a
presentation in PowerPoint. PowerPoint’s advantages include wide functionality, clear and
user-friendly interface; newer versions, starting 2019, also use automatic tips and settings
that make your work easier, for example, accelerate alignment to grid. It is distributed on a
paid basis, however there’s a 1-month trial version available.

9
PowerPoint’s initial interface

Lifehack: Check with the organization where you work or study, if they have Microsoft Office
subscription available for their employees/students — quite possibly, they have.

Google Slides

Google’s cloud presentations for teamwork — a convenient platform for those who work on
a project in team or remotely. Google Slides has a simple interface, which is clear and easy
to learn from scratch, however the set of fonts, transitions and visual elements is limited.

Keynote

A standard presentation application by Apple. It offers simple and clear basic functionality
similar to Google Slides. One disadvantage is platform restriction, so you’ll have to convert
you presentation to PDF or PPTX to be able to open it in another program.

Canva

An online platform for slide preparation with a large set of various templates that are
suitable for both work and study. There are paid functions but the free functionality and set
of templates are sufficient to make a nice presentation.

Prezi

A website for creating animated presentations with many transitions and animation effects.
It offers clear functionality and possibility to work online. Drawbacks include controversial
perception that may be caused by continuous animation, the necessity to present
information very briefly, limited visualization capabilities.

Where to find useful materials and inspiration?

To make your presentation interesting and engaging, your visual experience also matters, as
well as the ability to quickly find a certain useful tool, get a tip or advice. We have collected
for you several recommendations on where to get those.

TikTok and Instagram

Social media have long become not just a place for likes and pictures but a real tool for
education. The format of quick educational videos and posts more and more rapidly takes
over these platforms, so TikTok and Instagram now already have many cool accounts with
useful tricks, analyses, secrets and tools that are helpful in creating presentations. On
TikTok, for example, this is @Thatrelatablestudent talking on how to quickly create stylish
slides, useful services and lifehacks for presentation structuring, colors and fonts; and on
Instagram — @deardatapostbox with her selections of tools, simple and bright ways to
visualize table and data.

10
Slideshare

The best-known presentation hosting website — you can find here presentations on very
different subjects, from TED talks to educational materials and portfolios. It is useful to
follow companies who are particularly specialized in presentations, to draw ideas,
experience and inspiration.

Behance

A website for designers that exhibits a lot of graphic works and illustrations from all over the
world. It helps to develop your visual experience, find trends and ideas for presentations and
interior designs.

Pinterest

Perhaps, the best-known platform for inspiration. If you use a search query associated with
presentations and design, you can get nice selections on various subjects, find illustrations,
get inspiration from examples of working with fonts and prepare a mood board for your
presentation.

Slide Bank by Bonnie & Slide.

The bank of free slides from the Bonnie&Slide Presentations Academy will help to find
specific sample slides for numerous topics, check what similar tasks others solved in
presentations, and get inspired to create effective and bright works.

Creating a nice presentation for your study, work or public talk seems an uneasy task at first
glance. However, constant training, use of advices and lifehacks will provide you with the
needed experience. So, now that you have all the knowledge on how to make a presentation
interesting and engaging, it's time to start with the very first step. Try, experiment, present –
and we’re sure you’ll be able to make cool and effective presentations on any subject.

ANALYSIS

1. Did the board display design reflect the likes/interests of its target
audience? Why? Why not?
Answer:
Definitely yes because of its style, selection of colors and materials,
the title and the theme seem to be a teacher made. Since it is made by
certain teacher, so I can say that everything being posted are being
reflected on the likes or interest of its target audience because the
main target audience are also the teacher, but it is not the totality
because every teacher has its own style. It simply means that one
teacher is different from another teacher in terms of their likes or
interest.

2. Was the language used clear and simple for the target audience to
understand? Why? Why not?
Answer:

Yes, it was. The font and size of the words were formal enough to be
read by the target audience and the words were also bold enough to
be clearly seen. The words used were appropriate to the level of the
teachers where in the target audience who will read it can understand
its thought.

3. What do you think was the purpose of the board display? Was it
effective? Why? Why not?
Answer:

In my own point of view, the purpose of the boards was to convey

information to the teachers such as information about the content of
the subjects, the four (4) Principles of Management resource, values
information and latest trends in the society. It also serves as
motivation tool for the teachers to do their best and as I look in it, it
really works for its purpose. By it designs it holds attention, the
contents were appropriate that provide learning information, and
facilitates easy understanding.

4. What suggestions can you make?

Answer:

I suggest that it would be also nice to add more contents which will
invite the participation of the students aside from information that it
conveys. The content must have something new that gives
opportunity to the student to participate or interact and it is
important also to update the content.

REFLECTIONS

1. Name at least 5 skills that a teacher should have to be able to come up with
effective board displays. Elaborate on why each skill is needed.
Answer:
The skills that a teacher should possess in order to come up with an effective board
display are:

 Artistic – The teacher must have a sense of art in order to make an

attractive board display. He/ she must know how to combine colors and
make designs appropriate to the theme and purpose of the board display.
 Informative – The board display must have varied yet appropriate
information. Information placed on the board display may provide
additional knowledge to the audience. That is why the teacher must
gather information from all types of sources.
 Resourceful – A board display doesn’t need to be expensive for it to be
nice. Resourcefulness of the teacher may contribute to the beautification
of the board. Aside from that, it may also convey additional information to
the audience aside from what is being written and posted (i.e. the use of
indigenous materials to make a collage).
 Idealistic – For the board display to facilitate learning, the teacher must
think of an idea of what his/ her board display would look like and how
will it work for the learning of the audience. The board must not only be a
picture for display to be appreciated but it must project an appeal to the
audience that would motivate them to do something in order to learn.
 Observant – Assessment is very important in order for the teacher to
identify what is the need of the students. That is why a teacher must
develop the assessment skill so that he/she will have an idea of what type
of board display he/she will make to fill in the need of the students in
terms of learning.

2. Which of the skills do you already have? Recall your past experiences in
making board displays. How do you practice these skills?
Answer:
I have the sense of art, a little of the resourcefulness and a little of being
idealistic. But I have not made any board display yet. I just practice this

3. Which skills do you still need to develop? Reflect on how you can improve
on or acquire these skills.
Answer:
I feel that I need to develop more is my assessment skills by trying to
observe the learning needs of others, as well as to be informative by
searching through books, magazines, internet and by constant practice
and by research on various designs that helpful in coming up with
instructional materials.

ANALYSIS

1. What do you think prompted the teacher to choose the materials/learning

resources that she/he used?

Answer:

In my own understanding, the teacher wanted to let her students to be

attentive and participative in their lesson, and also let her students
utilize their analytical skills. The instructional materials used were the
perfect fit because the purpose was accomplished. It really catches the
attention of the students and it aids the teacher’ intention. The
instructional materials serves as a clear representation that was
capable of giving clear information, through this, the students were
actively engaged in the discussion and the teacher was trying to use
her creativeness and resourcefulness to facilitate the learning.

2. What difficulties, if any, did the teacher experience? How can this be
managed?

Answer:

As I closely observed, there was no difficulty that the teacher

experienced. The class was well managed and the teacher did not find
it hard to convince her students to participate in the discussion and
activity. There was an interaction between the students and the
teacher, and the teacher makes sure that her students stay on task as
observed.

3. Over-all, were the learning resources/materials used effectively? Why?

Why not?

Answer:

Yes, all students were actively engaged in the discussion by answering

the questions written in the chalkboard or visual aid and some of them
were able to answer what was asked. The teacher gives appreciation to
those students who answer the questions correctly and to those who
were not able to give their correct answer; the teacher gives feedback to
improve learning. Through the score of students on their quiz that
shows a positive result, I can conclude that learning material was used
effectively.

19
REFLECTIONS

Put yourself in the place of the teacher. What would you do similarly and
what would you do differently if you will teach the same lesson to the
same group of students? Why?

Answer:

If I will be the teacher of that class teaching with the same lesson, I
will also provide activities in order for students to have an opportunity
to practice and apply their learning after learning a particular
knowledge, skills and attitudes. I will also use the same teaching
approach which is the inquiry approach.

If it is possible, I will integrate the use of ICT tools because the concept
of computer literacy for students has been redefined thus I have to be
aware of this trends, as my own teaching effectiveness will depend on
my understanding of these recent technological trends.

With this reason, I will create a game through the use of projector in a
way that has relation to the tropic. I will also present a power point
presentation that contains my topic for that day. Through this, the
students will be attentive and participative in the lesson and it brings
convenience to my part. If the resources are not available, I will use the
chalkboard and I will provide them an interactive activity by dividing
them into groups to be followed by a short discussion, this is to
facilitate the visual, auditory and bodily or kinesthetic learners. After I
implement the instruction, I will evaluate students by providing an
assessment method that is suited to the needs and interest of the
students in order for me to measure the retention of students if they
have achieved mastery, and to know if I’m going to proceed or revise
the instruction.

ANALYSIS

1. Give at least three benefits of doing a survey of available materials before

making your own materials? Explain each.

Answer:

a. Doing survey of available materials will give me a new idea of what

to make and how to make it. There may be unique learning
materials that could be beneficial to the lessons that I will be
teaching, and by looking at the other materials can have additional
information on what to do. Through survey I can gain competence
in preparing instructional materials that are appropriate to the
learning content, learning objectives and learning styles of my
students.

b. Doing survey may also help me evaluate the materials that I will be
making is beneficial or relevant to my lesson. The information that I
have gathered during the survey will serve as my bases or guide on
how I am going to evaluate my materials. It is important for me to
evaluate the materials that I will be making so that I can produce
an improved and developed materials based from the evaluation I
have made, with this reason I can gain competence in making
instructional materials that are appropriate to the learning content,
learning objectives, and learning styles of my students.

c. Doing survey can help me realize what other learning materials that
I need to make or avail in order to enhance learning in my class.
Doing surveys provide several options as well as bases for me to
choose so that I can produce an appropriate and effective materials
that should be based on students characteristics or learning styles
and to my lesson objectives. It is also necessary that the materials
must be applicable to the subject matter.

23
REFLECTIONS

1. Which of the materials did you like making the most? Why?

Answer:

I like making power point presentations because it’s easy for me to put
different graphic designs, effects and transitions. I can also insert
pictures, video clips and even sounds. My purpose of selecting power
point presentation among other instructional materials is to make a
clear representation and while presenting a topic, it is necessary for
me to monitor and facilitate to make sure that students stay on task. I
believe that making power point presentations aids in enhancing
creativity.

2. What difficulties, if any, did you encounter in making the materials?

How did you overcome them?

Answer:

I do not encounter any problems in making presentation because the

power point program has a guide on how to use it. Making a
presentation using power point program is just an easy task for me.
The only thing which I consider a problem for me is on how I’m going
to deliver the content in my presentation.

3. What tips can you give teachers regarding preparation of teaching

materials?

Answer:

The best tip I can give to teachers regarding preparation of teaching

materials, that the teacher must assess first what are the learning
styles of her students. She must see to it that her materials will fit to
the learning styles of the students for the learning to be effective. The
teacher must also identify what is the best material that she should
use to present her lessons, and other tips is to make use of the
resources available at home, in the school or can be bought at the
convenience store for a low price. They can also search the Internet for
creative ways to utilize such commonly found items in their lessons.

ANALYSIS

1. What are the good features of a handout?

Answer:

A good handout must be concise and can be understood by

the reader. I must contain the important information that
the students must know about the topic or the lesson. Also,
it must give the students a clear description of the activities
or procedures that they have to do in order to understand
the lesson. Another, it should include pictures, graphs and
other illustrations related to the lesson. To shorten it, the
use of bullets may contribute as well the use of diagrams,
flowcharts, etc. The content must be sequenced properly to
avoid confusion.

2. Which of these features are present in the handout I made?

Answer:

Most of these features are present. The handout that I

made was concise and comprehensive. The key concepts
were emphasized because they are in bold type. I also use
bullets, illustration and pictures. It contained all the
important points of the presentation and I sequenced the
details properly to avoid misconceptions. 26
3. Which features are not present in the handout I made?

Answer:

None. All the features that I know that a handout must

have are present in my handout.

REFLECTION

1. What difficulties, if any did you encounter in making the handouts?

How did you overcome them?
Answer:

To make a handout is not totally difficult as long as I have a

reliable source or references and assistance from a
computer. The only thing that took time and needed brain
storming is the conceptualization of the flow of the handout
and the concept map that I included. So first I did was to
make an outline of the content of my handout then I read
several references and searching through the internet just
to form my concept map.

2. What tips can you give teachers regarding preparation of

handouts?

Answer:

In making handouts, it is always best to start with an

outline so that one will be guided on what topics to include.
Now, the teacher must identify first her objectives and the
purpose in making the handout. Then he/she must
conceptualize the flow and content of the handout by
making an outline. The teacher must also read several
references so that the handout will be an informative tool
for the students learning.

ANALYSIS

1. What are the features of a good slide presentation?

Answer:

A good slide show presentation must include the following:

 Short and concise
 Direct to the point and insightful at the same time.
 It can have transitions and animations to emphasize a point but
should not be too much.
 Includes photos and clip arts.
 Its design, lay-out and formatting should be balanced with the
concept presented.
 Use hyperlinks; and
 Use your own voice in the narration.
 It must have 6 lines with 6 words on each line.
30

2. Which of these features are present in the slide presentation you

made?
Answer:
The features that are present in my slide presentation that I
have made are the transitions, effects, only one theme or
design for the whole slide and also pictures that help students
visualize their thoughts or ideas. My slide presentation was not
too long or too short, and I give emphasis on the contents
because they are the most important points of my lesson.

3. Which features are not present in the slide presentation you

made?
Answer:
I am afraid that the slide presentation I made does not follow
the rule on “six lines per slide, six words per line”; and voice
narration is not present in my slide presentation including
hyperlinks.

REFLECTIONS

What difficulties, if any did you encounter in making the slide

presentation? How did you overcome them?

Answer:

Making power point presentation is a very interesting to me

because I can do most I wanted to do to make my slides a clear
representation and as a tool of information sources. Since,
there’s lots of information that being discussed in the reference
materials. To overcome them, I read the summarized form of
the lesson and from there come up with an outline that would
make the preparation of the slide easier. Since, there were no
difficulties in the slides that I have encountered because the
program has guides on how to use its features. If there is a
certain feature which I don’t know how to use, then I just
simply click help or go to a website specifically the Google to
find the answer if there is an internet access.

Preparing a presentation entails planning and time is one of

the factors to consider. For a busy life of a teacher preparing
presentations should be done ahead of time so that your
presentation will be done in accordance to what you have
planned.

REFLECTIONS

Through this episode, I was able to come across the role of the
teacher in making a responsible choice in determining the
appropriateness of the instructional tools especially when it
comes from the World Wide Web. The teacher has to spend time
in previewing and evaluating prospect sites to be used in the
class. Although, the teacher has all the help he or she will need
when looking for materials to use in class because there are a lot
of sites that cater to their needs.

Using the internet as a learning tool is good and effective. Upon

surfing on the internet, I saw many sites that has program to
make learning fun and effective. Some of the sites has games and
the other has tutorial programs. Indeed internet is an easy access
tool for learning. All you have to do is to search and click. But
aside from these benefits, internet access may also be dangerous
to the learners. From the sites I visited, some of the learning is
incorporated with violent games which are not a good influence to
the children. Some of the sites are also link with sites which has
the content that is not suited for children. Therefore, using
internet as a learning tool is good. But proper supervision of the
teacher is needed. Before giving the topic or activity to be search,
the teacher must check the sites first and choose those that are
safe for the children. The teacher must give proper instructions to
the students.
