Feeling play dough mats

This is a fun activity that students can do to build those


fine motor muscles and build vocabulary.
Print the cards and laminate for greater durability.

Directions:
Using Play Dough: Students pick a card, roll play dough
snakes, and form the object with the play dough.
Using Dry Erase Markers: Students pick a card and trace
the object.

Using Manipulatives: Students pick a card and use other


small manipulatives to create the object (ex: small beads).

Students need to practice using feeling vocabulary and exploring what
feelings look like.

Options:
Color: Just print and laminate the mats and cards.
Black and White: Print and use as a worksheet or print on colored
paper and laminate.

How to Use the Mats:


Pick a card and create the feeling face on the pencil.

Manipulative Options:
• Playdough Mats: Students use playdough to create various feeling
faces on the pencil.
• Tiny Treasures (Loose Parts): Place a tray of tiny treasures out,
and students create the feeling face with the tiny treasures. Tiny
Treasure ideas: googly eyes, rocks, mini erasers, or pom poms.
• Dry Erase Mats: Place in a page protector or dry erase sleeve.
Students draw the feeling faces with dry erase markers.
• Worksheet: Use markers or crayons to create a feeling face. Glue
the feeling card on the worksheet.

Help! I see black boxes or the text is
wonky!
You MUST open, edit, and print this product
in Adobe Reader from a COMPUTER (not
your phone) or NOT in preview mode (aka
through your internet browser). You can
download Adobe Reader for FREE online

Select the pages you want to print. Select


“FIT” to ensure it prints correctly and
doesn’t cut off the edges. always open &
Do NOT PRINT FROM YOUR PHONE. Some
have a glitch that makes the formatting

Help! It’s still not working!

Here’s what to do to make sure you are using ADOBE!
• Download the file and CLOSE out of the internet. DO NOT OPEN IT
ONLINE.
• Unzip the file, if it’s a zipped file.
• Find the file on your computer (check the downloads file), right-click
on the file, and choose to OPEN WITH ADOBE READER.
• If your computer asks you to make Adobe Reader your default
printer, say YES.

Print something smaller to save ink and paper or print it poster size.

Make sure you have the latest edition of Adobe Reader and your
computer is opening this file in Adobe Reader (not your computer’s
default reader or online in preview mode). You can download Adobe

Print it SMALLER Directions: To print it smaller in size


• Select File then Print or select the Print icon
• Select Multiple
• Click on the Pages per sheet and choose the number 2, 4, 6, 9, 16, or
custom

Print it BIGGER Directions: To print it larger in size


• Select File then Print or select the Print icon
• Select Poster
• In the Tile Scale box, choose the percentage you want it to print
• Click the arrow to check how it will look when printed and pieced
together
