FINAL SPEAKING

I. Part 1: General questions / Introduce & Interview


- Introduce myself: My name is Nhu Y. I was born and raised in Thoai Son district,
the beautiful, green landscape of An Giang province.
- Hometown: My hometown is Dinh my village, Thoai Son district, a rural, peaceful
place, and the people are friendly and humorous. The majority are farmers and
housewives, the others work far to earn a living.
- Family: There are four people in my family: my dad, my mom , my young brother
and me. My dad is a farmer,
- Hobbies: I am really passionate about listening to music. Ballade music is at the top
of my list. I feel gentle, pleasant, soft. Moreover, I also listen to K-pop: stands for
Korean Pop music. I love Blackpink group that consists of four members: Jisoo,
Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. Besides, I enjoy playing Piano or Organ. I have been playing
it for ten years. My father taught me when I was a child. Moreover, he taught me
how to not only play the instrument but also sing. He sings well, his voice is warm
and emotional.
- Food: I am really passionate about dishes made from chicken.

1. Talk about your shopping habits.
You should say:
 How do you plan and prepare for shopping?
 Make a shopping list based on my needs. For example, I go to the supermarket
every Monday to buy food and drink for a week, before that I always create a list
that consists of what and how much I should buy as well as the expected price that
I will pay
 Focus on long-term goals to decide to purchase something which means I will
consider how long it can be used.
 What factors influence your purchasing decisions?
 The most important and first on this list is the financial factor. I usually buy with a
discount of 30-50%, but it must be suitable for me. I tend to waiting the big sale
day like Black Friday, at that time, I will buy to save more money when buying
them on a normal day.
 Social factor: When I go on Internet like TikTok and Facebook, there are many
advertisements and reviews about any products that make me curious, so I can buy
impulsively.
 How do you avoid impulse buying and make informed choices?
 Impulse buying which is the act of buying something with no plan can be good for
my relaxation, but it is not great for my buget. According to CNBC, impulse
purchases are costing consumers almost $2000 a year. So, to advoid impulse
buying, I will stick to shopping lists which means I just buy within my list. As well
as It's important to have a savings plan with both short-term and long-term goals. I
will know what my target is to have approriate methods for my future
 What strategies do you use to manage your budget and avoid overspending?
 Set financial goals. For example, I must buy a house to support my job in the
future, so I must set my goals and have strategies to finish it quickly
 -Waiting before buying: I usually wait 1-2 days before purchasing which helps me
have the insight to avoid making
 mistakes like overspending
2. Describe a product/ service you bought that made you feel most satisfied with.
You should say:
 What you bought
 Recently, I have been bought an iPhone by my parents.
 Where/ when you bought it
 . I have been using it for 6 months
 I bought it in the NK store because of a big sale, besides the NK store, usually costs
cheaper than any others do.
 Additionally, by that time, the iPhone 11 will be reasonably priced and my parent
afford it.
 Why you felt most satisfied with it
 I am happy with the phone because it comes with the latest features.
 I can now use the phone for browsing the internet, making phone calls, chatting
with friends, studying, and for numerous other purposes.
 Honestly, I am happy with the phone because it has fulfilled my desire for the latest
smartphone.
 Earlier, I had never owned a new smartphone, I just reused my parents'
smartphone.
 The phone that I have now has met all my needs. I am quite happy with that.
 If you have a chance, will you buy the same product/ service again?
=> If given the chance, I would consider purchasing the same brand but a different
product. I will purchase the latest Apple Products which is my ambition. I love Apple
products because they are of qualified quality and sensible design but at an expensive
price. However, I think that "you get what you pay for ", the expensive price can bring
feelings of luxury, fashion, and premium.
3. Describe a film that made a strong impression on you.
You should say:
 when and where you watched this film
 I have watched a film whose name is Coco. And the "Coco" is the main character's
great-grandmother's name. His name is Miguel. The first time I watched the film was
when I watched the Vlog of Jenny Huynh. While she was on the plane, she decided to
watch an interesting film, and after that, she said that she had watched it three times, so
I was curious and decided to try it. I have been addicted to it. When I feel bored and
stressed as well as I wanna listen to English, I usually go on the internet to watch
"Coco".
 what the film was about
 "Coco", which was first released in Mexico, is a 2017 animated film produced by Pixar
Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The '' Coco" tells the story of
a young boy named Miguel Rivera who has a passion for music but faces opposition
from his family due to a long-standing ban on music. One the Day of the Dead, Miguel
finds himself in the colorful Land of the Dead, where he seeks the help of his deceased
ancestors to unravel the mystery of his family's history and understand his love for
music.
 The film explores themes of family, memory, tradition, and the importance of following
one's passion.
 The film won several awards, including two Academy Awards for Best Animated
Feature and Best Original Song ("Remember Me").
 why it made a strong impression on you.
=> The film has details that are funny, emotional, and meaningful.
I don't know why I felt peaceful and light after I watched the film. It brings feelings and
makes me less stressed and less tired. Moreover, When I went on the Int, I saw a post
recommending movies that learners of English should watch, so I decided to watch this
film twice and more times.
The first time I watched this film I both watched and read Vietnamese subtitles. However,
I surfed on Facebook, a blog that told us If wanna be better at English, never turn on
Vietnamese subtitles, so I watched this film with English subtitles at now. I will watch and
read English, and sometimes, I will speak following the characters in the film, I think it is
so exciting and good.
4. Talk about the reality of the environment in your place.
You should say:
 whether it is still good or much worse than before? Why do you think so?
 The environment in my place is quite better than before because most people started to
be aware of environmental protection. However, the amount of plastic waste and
garbage dumps are increasing masse and losing control.
 In my opinion, the pollution in my hometown which is a rural place results from litter
illegally everywhere, and removing trash hasn't been planned carefully and thoroughly
yet.

 Who is most responsible for the environmental problems?


 Humans are the main cause of environmental pollution. For example, Most people in
the countryside are farmers, so they will use fertilizers, but they usually don't clear out
trash which are plastic bottles, plastic bags, etc. Therefore, the plastic waste is pervasive
and gets out of control
 Can people make it better? By what ways?
 If I have a chance, I will try to organize meetings to help people become knowledgeable
about recycling and proper waste disposal. In addition, the government should enforce
policies to reduce single-use plastic and encourage sustainable practices such as
promoting alternative materials like biodegradable or eco-friendly packaging.
5. Talk about a city, an area or a country you would be interested in migrating to.
You should say:
 Where would you migrate to?

 Da Nang, located in central Vietnam, is a coastal city with a rich cultural heritage and a
rapidly growing economy.
 What factors might influence your decision?

 Beautiful Beaches: The city is famous for its pristine beaches, such as My Khe Beach,
which has gained international acclaim.
 Infrastructure Development: Da Nang boasts modern infrastructure, including an
international airport, well-maintained roads, and bridges.
 Cost of Living: Compared to many Western cities, the cost of living in Da Nang is
generally lower. This includes housing, transportation, and daily expenses, making it an
affordable option for expatriates.
 What factors seem to be the strongest?

 Quality of Life: The combination of economic opportunities, infrastructure, cultural


attractions, and a coastal lifestyle contributes to an overall high quality of life in Da
Nang.
 Natural Beauty: The city's proximity to beautiful beaches and natural landscapes
provides opportunities for relaxation and outdoor activities, fostering a balanced and
enjoyable lifestyle.
6. Talk about Mars colonization
You should say:
 Why should humans colonize Mars?
 Scientific Exploration: Mars is a fascinating planet with a unique geological history like
its surface and atmosphere
 Resource Utilization: Mars has abundant resources, including water ice, minerals, and
potentially valuable elements that support future space exploration.
 How could humans emigrate to Mars?
 Spacecraft and Transport: Emigrating to Mars would require advanced spacecraft
capable of carrying humans and cargo, like SpaceX's Starship.
 Colonization Infrastructure: Before emigration, infrastructure on Mars needs to be
established. This includes habitats, power sources, and life support systems.
 What skills or knowledge will the colonists on Mars need?
 Medical Training: Mars colonists will need basic medical skills due to the isolation and
the potential for limited access to professional medical care. Telemedicine may also
play a crucial role.
 Adaptability and Problem-Solving: Living on Mars will present unexpected challenges.
Colonists must be adaptable, resourceful, and capable of solving problems
independently.
 What issues might humans face when they emigrate to Mars?
Health Risks:Prolonged exposure to reduced gravity, radiation, and the psychological
stress of isolation pose health risks to Mars colonists.
 Environmental Harshness: Mars has a harsh environment with extreme temperatures, dust
storms, and a thin atmosphere.
7. Describe a place you would like to visit.
You should say:
 What name of a place and where it is
 If I have a chance, I will visit Da Lat, especially, The St. Nicholas Cathedral whose
Vietnamese name is " Nha Tho Chanh toa Da Lat - Nha Tho con Ga" which is located
in Da Lat, the capital of Lam Dong in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. The building
was built as a Catholic parish by the French in 1931-1932.
 (On top of the cross of the bell tower of Da Lat Cathedral, there is a unique lightning
rod shaped like a chicken. For that reason, many people call this place the cute name "
Nha Tho Con Ga")
 what kind of place it is
 This place is both a religious place and a tourist place. The design of the main gate
faces LangBiang Mountain. In the middle of the church is the quietest, most mineral
space in this architectural structure.
 The scenery outside of the church is nothing more to say, very wonderful and poetic.
Besides, around the church area, there are also many restaurants, cafes, beer bars, and
souvenir shops for tourists to visit and enjoy the atmosphere of Da Lat.
 what things you would do there
=> I will attend mass, take photos, and take a walk around Da Lat. I haven't gone to Da Lat
yet, but I have planned to visit the Church. Moreover, when I was a child, I wondered Why
everyone called "NTCG", for I used to imagine that the shape of the church was a rooster.
Until I had a phone, I searched on Int, so I knew that the rooster was petite.
8. Describe a business that can benefit a community.
You should say:
