FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 34
RM3 Flight Recorder
Cash in (standard)

A “cash in” is signalized by and a command from the application.

Extend this cash in.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 35

RM3 Flight Recorder
Cash in (standard)

The application sends this cash in command to JDD “JDD_CASH_IN_START”.

JDD initiates a cash in “Sequence: CASH_IN”.
Extend this command.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 36

RM3 Flight Recorder
Cash in (standard)

JDD sends this command “Sequence: CASH_IN” to the firmware.

The firmware initiates a cash in start: “FW_CASH_IN_START”

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 37

RM3 Flight Recorder
Cash in (standard)

If you click on “FW_CASH_IN_START” you can see the configuration in regards

of the destination of the note categories.
For e.g.: This could be helpful to understand why a CAT 2 note goes to a output tray.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 38

RM3 Flight Recorder
Cash in (standard)

To find out what happened in the cash in transaction go to “NoteDistribution”

that shows you how many notes were removed from the tray and how many
notes received the Escrow or the collector.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 39

RM3 Flight Recorder
Cash in (standard)
If you extend the “NoteDistribution” you get plenty information about each note that is located on the
escrow/collector.
For e.g. source and destination, note category, currency, denomination, fitness, thickness and so on…
Please notify that the values shown behind “angle” and “centerOffset” are not the measured values. These values are
the expected values after passing the alignement unit. At ESCROW_TO_SAFE the real measured values are shown
here.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 40

RM3 Flight Recorder
Cash in (standard)

In this example you will have 107 note entries.

You need to click on each note to figure out what kind of note it is.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 41

RM3 Flight Recorder
Cash in (standard)

There is an other possibility to get an overview what kind of notes are stored on
the escrow.
Therefore extend “SystemOverview” that you can find below “FW_CASH_IN_END”.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 42

RM3 Flight Recorder
Cash in (standard)
This makes sense, especially if a lot of notes with different denominations are stored on the
escrow. It’s shown as “Customer” because the ownership of the money on the ESCROW is the
customer in this case.
The state in “SystemOverview” is the state which is reported to the application.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 43

RM3 Flight Recorder
Cash in (standard)
After you are informed about the note stack on the escrow you need to know if the cash in command was
successful executed. Therefore click on FW_CASH_IN_END.
true = command successful executed
false = not true (at least one condition not successful). If indicated clearing or other measures necesarry.

The CASH_IN command was

successful executed;
“Firmware Result” is “true”

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 44

RM3 Flight Recorder
Cash in (standard)

Now, the customer confirms the deposited amount of money with OK

and the application starts a EscrowToSafe, signalized by .
The ownership of the money changes from customer to bank at this moment.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 45

RM3 Flight Recorder
Cash in (standard)

The application sends this command to JDD and JDD to the firmware.

Extend the EscrowToSafe

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 46

RM3 Flight Recorder
Cash in (standard)

If you click on FW_ESCROW_TO_SAFE_START you find out the configuration

in regards of the destination for each note category.
For e.g.: It could be helpful to understand why a CAT3 note goes in to the cassette 4

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 47

RM3 Flight Recorder
Cash in (standard)

Under “NoteDistribution” you see how many notes removed from the Escrow and
how many notes received which destination.
In this example 107 notes removed the Escrow and 107 received cassette 2.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 48

RM3 Flight Recorder
Cash in (standard)

Of course you can extend these entries as well to get more details about each note.
- here angle and centerOffset show the measured values from the MOVE reader

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 49

RM3 Flight Recorder
Cash in (standard)

The FW_ESCROW_TO_SAFE_END shows you if this firmware action was

successful.
The result is send back to JDD.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 50

RM3 Flight Recorder
Cash in (standard)

Now, the cassettes will be prepared for the removal.

Therefore JDD initiates a Sequence: PREPARE_CASSETTE_REMOVAL and
sends this command to the firmware.
The cassette will be prepared for the removal (i.e. the retreat plate will be moved back)

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 51

RM3 Flight Recorder
Cash in (standard)

Again: The result of this firmware action is displayed in the FW_...._END.

The firmware send the result back to JDD and JDD to the application:
JDD_ESCROW_TO_SAFE_END.

The application sends the cash out command to JDD.
JDD initiates a “JDD_CASH_OUT” and sends a “sequence: CASH_OUT”
to the firmware that initiates a “FW_CASH_OUT”.
…-START and …_END are just added by the flightrecorder

Flight Recorder v2.01 | GCCC 4.2 55

RM3 Flight Recorder

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 81
RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
The scope is a possibility to analyze a transaction very deep in detail.
It is very helpful especially if you would like to know what exactly happened
during the jam. At first go to the transaction where a jam occurred.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 82

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
Extend the transaction until you see the ErrorStack and check what the root
cause of the jam was.
In this case the note did not arrive AU_PS4

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 83

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
To figure out what exactly happened change from Explorer to Scope view.
Therefore click somewhere between FW_..._START and FW_..._END
(it doesn’t matter which entry you select) and click on Scope.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 84

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
Here you can see the “Scope” view.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 85

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
In the window “Actions” you can see which transaction you are scoping.
Furthermore you can jump here to the next action without going back to the
“Explorer” view.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 86

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
In the window “Scope” you can see all sensors and actors which have changed
the status during the action. You can see on the scrollbar that there are a lot of
sensors and actors.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 87

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
If the view is confusing, you can load signal filters to get a more simple view.
That means only the photo sensors in regards to the action are shown in a
correct sequence.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 88

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
Therefore press “ “ and choose the file that matches to your “action”.
In this case load “EscrowToSafe NotePath.csf” because you are analyzing the
action “EscrowToSafe”. Filter are only available for CRS RM3 non 4+4 systems!

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 89

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
Now you can see on the scroll bar that the list of sensors is much shorter and
clearly (in comparison to foil 89).

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 90

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
Another option to get a more simple view is to mark only the actors and sensors
you would like to see.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 91

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
Or you enter the object under “Mask” which you would like to see.
Examples: “_ps” shows all photo sensors;
“DM” shows all sensors and actors of the distributor module;
If you furthermore check “Order by Time” the sensors will be shown in the order in which their status
has changed.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 92

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
Beside the window scroll bar you can see where a jam and where a warning is
located. A jam is displayed by “ “ and a warning by “ “.
So you know where you need to move the scroll bar to find the appropriate sign.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 93

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
Important is the first sign in regards to the time, because you would like to know
the root cause (the first error) of the jam.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 94

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
To figure out which the first sign is, it makes sense to zoom in to spread the
view. Therefore make a left mouse click close to the sign that is from your point
of view the first one. A red flag will jump automatically to that point.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 95

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
If you click on you can zoom in (the time scale changes).
Hereby the red flag stays central.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 96

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
Now you can see which is the first sign and which sensor is affected.
In this case AU_PS4.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 97

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
If you mouse over this sign you get a couple of information about the reason,
description and solution possibilities.
In this case the “notes probably jammed under sensor”.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 98

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
Here you can see that the sensor AU_PS4 is covered for 172ms.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 99

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
Now, it could be interesting which note(s) was/were affected.
Therefore make a mouse over the green field. An info field will open in which you
can see the note id (in this case 352925) and other helpful information.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 100

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
The next step is to select the note with the same id in the field “Notes”.
You will see that the note is highlighted in red in the window “Scope”.
Now it is easier to follow the note from sensor to sensor in the “Scope” field.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 101

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
If you like, you can zoom in a little bit more. To zoom out use “ “
You can see that the note 352925 covered the sensor AU_PS1 for 49ms, then the
sensor is 55ms uncovered until the next note covered the sensor for 49ms again.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 102

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
The note comes to AU_PS3 and 2 which are parallel. You can see that the sensor
AU_PS2 is 61ms and AU_PS3 is 48ms covered. That is not normal because the
difference is too big (a difference of 1-3ms is ok).

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 103

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
That means either the note is skewed or dust covers the sensor AU_PS2.
Maybe it is helpful to compare that behavior with a good note (in this example the
note before is covered 48ms on the sensor AU_PS1-3).

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 104

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
The note arrives AU_PS4 and you can see that there is no gap to the next note.
It looks like that the notes run together at this sensor in comparison of the gap
between the two notes at the senor AU_PS1 and AU_PS2/PS3.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 105

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
But if you check the next sensor TUC_PS2c you can see that the notes “run out again”.
The system recognize suddenly a note. Therefore there is a “unexpected note” message.
If you compare TUC_PS2c and AU_PS1 you see that it looks almost identical.

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 106

RM3 Flight Recorder
Scope
Now you must interpret this finding.
Run the notes physically together at one sensor and run out at the next sensor? Unlikely!
More likely is that dust cover the sensor AU_PS2 and AU_PS4!

FlightRecorder HowTo v2.04 | GCCC 4.2 107
