Problem Management

This document discusses ways to deal with problem employees in the workplace. It explains that problem employees can cost organizations $6,000 to $8,000 per day if not properly addressed. The document outlines a progressive discipline approach including coaching, written warnings, and termination. Coaching is recommended initially to build, teach, and motivate employees. Written warnings serve as documentation of issues that need correcting. Termination should only be used if performance or behavior problems cannot be resolved after other attempts. The document also notes that personal problems may underlie some work issues, and managers should give employees time to overcome personal challenges.

Dealing with Problem

Employees

Introduction
Do you have a problem employee on your team? If so, you’re not alone it seems that every
Business whether it’s a small operation or large scale corporation always have problem
employees if its not given a proper attention one employee can be a real business liability and
effect the output of overall activity day by day by reducing the motivation and effectiveness of
the entire work group Recent research shows that underperforming employees can cost an
organization with amount of $6,000 to $8,000 a day. This paper features ways or right decision
to solve employee and workplace problems

Body

The main question in this paper is how to deal with problem employees and why? First let me
explain that there are two roots on why employee have a declining performance their personal
problems and their problems regarding the workplace whether it’s the workload or the people
they work with. To Resolve employee problems, based on Progressive Discipline there are
steps to deal with employee problems.

The Coaching, this is where you build, teach and motivate your employee to do better and be
better. Coaching in the disciplinary system ensures specified goals are reached, this type of
practice is good for employee who just started out to avoid stress and work to overwhelm
them.

Written warning reserved for some serious problems. It serves as a warning with a document
that comes with it that have a content of your behavior or performance with addition to what
will happen next if the employee does not show change. This serve great purpose on todays
work environment it gives people something to fear for.

Termination, as much as possible managers does not want to do this easily since the guilt are
shoulder by them. When terminating an employee it only meant one thing, nothing has worked
out with correcting the employee’s performance or behavior it already cost the management
money and time with the employee. As bad as it gets this actually give others motivation not to
fail or showcase bad behavior since they can be fired too.

As for the employee personal problems, as a manager you need to give your employee some
time since they are the only ones that overcome such problems. Time can really fix everything.

Conclusion

As long as we can help other people with their problems it’s worth it to give a helping hand. In
the end people in the dark places are often better than the rest of us all they need is a reason to
be better.
