SAP EWM – CLASS 3 – Supply Chain Unit Concept

Supply Chain Unit:


➢ Physical or organizational unit that is used within a logistics process in the form of one or more
business characters.
➢ Examples of such units are the goods receiving office or the shipping office
➢ The business characters are predefined by SAP.

Supply Chain Unit Use:


➢ With the SCU, you can replicate certain business characters of locations, such
as door or warehouse, which you need in the processes of Extended Warehouse Management (EWM).
➢ You can use an SCU with different business characters.
➢ An SCU can simultaneously be used as a planning location and a shipping office, for example.
➢ You can create hierarchies of SCUs to represent the organization of a supply chain.

Process
1. Create Supply chain Unit - /N/SCMB/SCUMAIN
2. Assign Supply Chain unit to Warehouse
3. Check of ERP-EWM Configuration
