Revision Sheet Class Test 2 Answers

The document is a science worksheet for 6th grade students covering states of matter and forces. It contains questions to fill in blanks about states of matter like solid, liquid, gas and the processes of sublimation and condensation. It also covers different types of forces - contact forces like friction and air resistance, non-contact forces like gravity and magnetism. Students are asked to classify examples as contact or non-contact forces and define key terms like force, Newton, sublimation, condensation, gravitational force and electrostatic force with examples. Effects of force and ways of measuring force are also discussed.

Subject: Science
Chapter: States of matter & Force and motion Grade: 6
I. Fill in the blanks
1. The change in state of matter or a substance from the solid state into a gas
state, without changing into a liquid is called as Sublimation.
2. The process of change in state of gas to liquid Condensation.
3. If you stretch a spring and then leave it, it will return to its original position
as a result of Spring Force.
4. The unit of force is Newton (N).
5. Air resistance force is an example of Contact Force.
6. Frictional force is an example of Contact Force.
7. Which state holds its own shape Solid State.
8. Which state of matter takes the shape of its container Liquid State.
9. In the Process of converting gas into liquid you have to Remove heat.
10. Magnetic force is an example of Non-Contact force.

II. Label any three forces that are acting on this moving car.

1. ___Gravitational force________-
2. ___Frictional Force__________-
3. __Air Resistance force______--

1
III. Label any three forces that are acting on this rolling ball

4. ___Gravitational force______
5. ___Frictional Force_________
6. __Applied Force______

IV. Classify the following into Contact or Non-Contact force

1. Gravity pulling you towards earth Non-Contact force

2. Hitting a ball with a bat Contact force

3. Static electricity pulling up your hair Non-Contact force

4. Two magnets repelling each other Non-Contact force

5. Pedaling a bicycle Contact force

6. Pulling a door open Contact force

V. Answer the Following.

2
1. Define Sublimation.

Ans. It is defined as the change of state of matter or a substance from the

solid state into a gas state, without changing into a liquid.

2. What do you mean by contact force? Explain with example.

Ans. A Forces which act on a body either directly or through connector are

called contact forces. Muscular force, mechanical force and frictional force are

examples of contact forces.

3. Write down the types of Non-contact force.

Ans. The types of Non-Contact forces are Magnetic force, gravitational force,

Electrostatic force.

4. What you mean by Non-contact force? Explain with example.

Ans. Forces which act through space without making direct contact with the

body are called non-contact forces. Gravitational force, electrostatic force and

magnetic force are examples of non-contact forces.

5. Explain Gravitational force with example?

3
Ans. It is an attractive force exerted by large bodies such as planets and stars.

Example: The solar system is a result of the Sun’s gravitational force on the

planets.

6. Write any two effects of force.

1. A force can make a body at rest move.

2. A force can stop a moving body or slow it down.

7. Explain what is force with unit?

Ans. Force can also be defined as an external agent which can change the state of
rest or motion of a body. The SI unit of force is newton (N).

8. How we can measure force?

Ans. Using a spring balance we can measure force.

9. Define Condensation.
Ans. Condensation is the process by which water vapour in the air is changed
into liquid water. For example, a foggy mirror.

10. Explain Electrostatic force with example.

Ans. It is the force experienced by all electrically charged particles in the
universe. It can be both attractive and repulsive force. Example: The standing
up of hair due to cold.
