1.0 PURPOSE
This procedure describes the requirements for the fabrication and installation of piping for
BIOCON 1814B Expansion Project.
2.0 TRANSPORTATION
i. Stainless steel piping and fittings materials will be transported directly from the supplier
warehouse to the job site after inspection is complete
ii. The forklift and crane will be used to unload the pipe spools from the trailer.
iii. The pipe spools will be shifted by forklift or crane from the lay-down area to installation site
i. Prepare and submit to WKL/Biocon MOS, Lifting Plan (if available), barrication plan (if
available) attached with JSA
ii. Ensure WKL/Biocon review, accept, and approve all the related submitted documents.
iii. Confirm with WKL/Biocon work schedule to carry out the lifting work and apply for
Permit to work.
iv. Display a copy of the Permit to Work at the site work area.
v. All tools & equipment are subject to inspection by the WKL Safety
Representative.
vi. Mobilization of tools, equipment, and people to setup the lifting work.
vii. The weight of pipe spools and pipe support shall not exceed the lifting capacity of the crane.
The lifting plan will be attached as attachment before commencing the works.
viii. The crane operators documents and crane certificate will be attached before commencing the
works.
ix. A signboard shall be displayed to clearly indicate that the lifting works area progress.
i. Prior to the installation, A-Frame or Scaffolding with Green Tag shall be erected, and
temporary support will be installed at the job site prompt to installation works.
ii. The pipe spools or pipe supports are lifted by using sling belts and chain block with/without
tag line.
iii. Upon the clear instructions from signal man, the lifting work may commence slowly from

SCOPE
This specification requires all parties involved or concern to plan for safety to receive, load,
transport, offload, lift and lower any load. This may include site survey on access road to
provide a well prepare working area for the crane before it arrives at the plant.
Main job activities are to use 1 unit 85 ton mobile cranes to lift and erect the followings.
Note:
-All the cranes deliver to the job site shall comply with the local regulations with valid PMA
issue by DOSH department and competent riggers and signalman.
-The crane operator is a qualified / competent person who is authorized by the lift supervisor
to operate the controls of the crane and meets all the requirements of local regulations.
-The manufacturer capacity chart includes lifting capacities, operating conditions, operating
radius, and boom length shall accompany the crane at the cabin.
-All cranes shall have a load moment indicator and gear lifting appliances shall be inspected
before work.

5.1.3 Qualified Rigger An individual with training and experience that has
successfully completed an appropriate rigging training course and a rigger skills
training course.
5.1.4 Qualified Crane Operator - An individual with training and experience who has
success- fully completed an appropriate rigging and qualified crane operator
crane skills training course. The qualified crane operator shall hold a
qualification card for the type and capacity of crane that they are operating.
6.0 EQUIPMENT

7.0 PROCEDURE
7.1.1 Prepare and submit to WKL/Biocon MOS, Lifting Plan attached with JSA.
7.1.2 Ensure WKL/Biocon review, accept, and approve all the related submitted
documents.
7.1.3 Confirm with WKL/Biocon work schedule to carry out the lifting work and
apply for Permit to work.
7.1.4 Display a copy of the Permit to Work at the site work area.
7.1.5 All tools & equipment are subject to inspection by the WKL Safety
Representative.
7.1.6 Mobilization of tools, equipment, and people to setup the lifting work.

7.1.7 The main structure for the column was erected earlier on preparation site due to
space issue and for easy maneuver and resume installation. The weight for the
main structure which need to be lifted is 6 ton, while the total weight of the
structure is 12 ton.
7.1.8 On the day of the lifting works, cranes parking location to be decided by lifting
supervisor and crane operator. They will ensure the crane is able to reach the
location. Basically, the 85-ton mobile crane parked location are as per the
respective “PART A: CRANE ARRANGEMENT & MATERIAL
LOADING/UNLOADING” drawings.
7.1.9 Thereafter the 85-ton mobile crane shall park in front of SRP beside the erected
column structure. The working radius for the boom already per-calculated earlier for crane
to pick counterweight and working area. The boom can only be extended when the
operator cab and boom already in position to lifting the structure and materials. Then hoist
the equipment and move to the designated structure and materials for
installation.
7.1.10 Rotate and align the structure orientation to the correct and matching angle
alignment to the anchor bolting on the concrete foundation. Please refer to
drawing “PART C: DRAWING FOR COLUMN STRUCTURE” for the
orientation.
7.1.11 Upon completion of successful lifting and installation conduct final inspection
with WKL/Biocon.

7.1.14 Bolt and nut work for structure installation at SRP (top level)
a. Lift the structure and structure materials (platforms, bolts and nuts,
staircases, handrails, etc.) to SRP top level and unpack the cover to
identify the structure materials correctly by parts and functional.
c. After marking, fixed the structure using bolt and nuts using hand tools.
d. The bolt is placed through a pre-cut hole in the structure, after which a
nut is twisted and secured onto the mating thread at the end of the bolt.
e. The steps are repeated till fixed all the structure onto the platform.
f. Final bolt and nut securing was done at the marking floor.
g. The work may need some hand tools and ladder for working purposes.
7.1.15 A-Frame erection, modification, and dismantling work at SRP (Top Level)
a. The A- Frame erected at the structure installation site for accessing high level.
b. The WKL EHS shall be fully responsible for ensuring that all work carried out at
the site meets the Safety, Health & Environment Standards.
d. There is safe access provided for worker to assemble and dismantle A-Frame.
