This lesson plan discusses the immune system. The objectives are for students to demonstrate an understanding of the immune system and its role in defending the body from disease. Students will make a presentation on diseases associated with organ systems. The lesson introduces the acquired and innate immune systems. Students will identify the parts of the immune system using a human model and study how the acquired and innate immune systems protect the body. A video is shown to further explain the immune system. Formative assessment and additional study of the endocrine system are included.
